Well our brains never just shut down all together. You are dreaming...but because your brain is well used and everything is in relative order. They are probably not dreams of consequence. But I tend to lean toward the idea that you probably get your REM sleep during the first part of your sleep time and forget it before you wake up.
Good to know someone is using their brain tho ;D
oh, and I never have enough flair...I fear buttons with cute sayings on them. hehe. Thanx for the "office space" reference...that movie rulez

I am probably forgetting them. I really sleep hard though. I know this because if my little guy cries at night -- I am nearly dizzy and can hardly stand up right when I first get up to help him.
It takes allot for me to snap out of my sleep.
Thanks!

Yep, sounds like your getting REM sleep to me getting woken up from REM sleep is the worst. Did you know your body produces chemicals that paralyze you during REM sleep? Which is why narcolepsy is so scarey...coz those chemicals are being released at the wrong times. Silly neuro malfunctions

Yeah, dreams are cool things indeed. It's fun what the mind can come up with

They're pretty fun to read and it would be so cool to hear what you think. ;D I've had some pretty interesting people in my dreams lately - including Fall Out Boy and a really fat Tom Cruise - not to be confused with Tome Cruise.

So, now that you're back do you want to take a stab at some of my celebrity cameo dreams? I would love to hear your celeb cameo dreams...those are usually the funnest dreams....do I have to go scrounging or u gunna be nice and repost? ;D Do you think dreams can prophecies the future? or just merely our brains being defragged? You know, I actually am pretty open to the idea of dreams telling us the future and what not. I've always suspected that our brains are capable of picking up signals we may or may not understand or even able to process. Sometimes I think the brain works on those signals while we're asleep. Occasionally able to show us events that to us, seem impossible to predict but not impossible when you consider that our various senses are able to pick up so many clues that we aren't even aware of in our waking lives. So yeah, I think it's possible. But most aren't able to pick up all that's needed to do this sort of thing. They say women are more likely to be psychic and there is a reason for this. Women are more sensitive to emotions and also (scientifically speaking) can access more frequencies of brain waves. Much like hypnosis we have to be able to achieve a certain brain wave length that puts us in a suggestable state. The psychic must be able to access a state similar to hypnosis so that they are suseptable to those around them. Course, this is just my theory. I'm not an expert in this particular area per se'.

And I believe there are spirits (ghosts) in this dimension. I believe they might have influence in these type of dreams.
I have a few ghost goosebump stores ...
Oh that could SO be a new thread!

I also have this whole theory about ghosts too... basically it has to do with time being non-linear and how the brain waves I mentioned before, give access to detecting events and people that have or will happen or are in a location at another time. It's like those who are sensitive to it, are seeing stuff that passes in the circle of time.
Which is also why I think people often see ghosts at night. Their brains are heading to the right frequency at those times so they become sensitive to them and thus see "ghosts"

Okay, here's the most recent batch of dreams. I can't wait to see what you think of them Feigy. ;D
I'm hoping Feigy will make an
appearance soon and tell me all about my dreams.
I've been having some odd ones this week. On Tuesday night I dreamt about my
old house in Collinsville, IL.
The one that was haunted.
Now it's not unusual for me to dream about that house, even though I haven't
lived there since I was 15. I've dreamt about it off and on since we've
moved. Something about that house has just always stayed with me.
This dream was really different though. Not quite as bad as the nightmare I
had about it once, which I can't remember except that it scared the living
hell out of me. I don't scare easily - well, unless there's spiders - but
this dream freaked me out so badly I had to turn on every light in the house
and pace around holding Little Skite until I could calm down.
The dream I had Tuesday wasn't quite that bad. This one was just about the
house trying to kill us.
Yes, I said the house.
The house itself was manifesting ghosts in my dream and the ghosts were out to
kill us. Since I had this dream on Tuesday I can't remember anything much
except for flashes here and there and the main idea of the dream.
Pretty freaky stuff. I have the "something is trying to get me"
dreams off and on but I've never had one where the house was the thing trying
to get me.
Then Wednesday night I had another "end of the world" dream. In
this dream we somehow had advance warning that a bomb was going to be dropped
on whatever city we were living in.
By we I mean the random people in my dream. I have lots of dreams that
feature people I don't actually know in real life.
The first thing I remember in the dream was walking though the living room of
this house, which was supposed to be mine but it looked nothing like my house
at all.
I went out a door that should have been a bedroom door but it went into some
weird courtyard with palm trees of all things. My sister was there and she
was trying to warn me about something.
The something ended up getting on my arm. It was a ginormous black spider.
I could actually feel the thing on my arm, near my elbow. Very freaky. I
finally managed to get it off of me.
The next thing I remember I was going back into the kitchen to try to pack
some things since we had to leave in a hurry.
Now I wasn't getting food or water. I was packing my Buffynalia - which was
hanging in the kitchen for some strange reason. I'd never hang that stuff in
the kitchen where it could get greasy and dirty.
I was also trying to ensure that I was able to take Little Skite with
us. I think this is the first time he's ever been in my dream.
In my dream he was actually a father. There was a baby Little Skite in my
dream, but we had to leave him behind for some strange reason.
I was having issues getting Little Skite ready because the cat carrier
wasn't working quite right. There were some broken pieces on it that I was
trying to fix - all the while trying to make sure he didn't run off.
I finally put him in a tote bag and carried him around with me.
The last thing I remember was being at the gas station. Whoever I was with
was gassing up the ... well I'd say it was a car but it looked more like a big
giant box. A box big enough to seat 4 people. Joss Whedon would so love that
in a dream episode.
So I'm standing there looking at the city skyline - wherever we were it was in
a large city - when I noticed huge Bomb clouds coming up behind the buildings.
I remember yelling "WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW!" and jumping into the box
....
Then I woke up.
Very strange stuff.
Next up, Fall Out Boy makes an appearance ...
Guess what? I'm back with another strange
dream. Who would have though?
I really wanted to write about this when I got up this morning but sadly I
didn't think work would like me being late just so I could write about a
dream.
Even if Fall Out Boy made a cameo!
Okay, it wasn't that kind of dream but they were in it. Fall Out
Boy and dead bodies. Maybe eating potato skins before going to bed is a
bad idea?
I really wish I could remember all the details now. I kept trying to keep the
dream in mind all day but it's so hard to hang on to them sometimes - even
with telling people at work.
Michelle - from work not my best friend from when I was a kid- tells me I have
the best dreams.
Okay, so I vaguely remember being somewhere and discovering a dead body. I
don't remember where I was at though. Then we went on the run and ended up in
Fall Out Boy's hotel room.
However, it was still not that kind of dream sadly. They weren't in
the room at the time.
I looked in their closet and saw a sleeping bag on the closet shelf. There
was nothing else in the closet. I pulled the bag down and there was a dead
body in the bag.
It was all gray and creepy looking. It gave us a serious Wiggins. Though
thinking about it later it's a bit silly.
See I got to realizing the body was the color of Hankey The Christmas
Poo from that ep where he's dying because all the Hollywood people are
polluting the sewers with their film festival trash. That's just insane and
too funny to make the dead bodies creepy when I'm awake.
Right before I woke up I was back in my house in my dream. There was a dead
body lying on the living room floor. Enzo was telling this kid who
lives up the street about it but that kid wouldn't believe him the guy was
really dead.
This kid is really annoying in real life. He always trys to compete with
Enzo and even if he loses he insists that he could have won.
Enzo raced him on his bike one day because the kid insisted he could
ride faster. Enzo won. Then the kid said it was because his bike was
messed up so Enzo traded bikes with him and the kid still lost. They
did this about 3 times and Enzo beat him every time but that kid still
insists that he should have won.
I told Enzo to just ignore him. It's not worth the aggravation.
*About this time Little Skite jumped up on me and demanded
attention. It's hard to stay in the dream zone with a fluffy ball of cuteness
on your lap demanding attention.*
I really wish I could remember more of the dream. It was really cool, I know
there was some sort of mystery as to where the bodies were coming from, why
there was one in Fall Out Boys room, and many other probably very
interesting details that I can't remember now.
In real life it's been a bit of a Fall Out Boy day. A Little Less
16 Candles, A Little More (Touch Me) played while I was getting ready for
work this morning which isn't too much of a surprise.
Then I turned on the television at work to watch videos on my break and it
played.
The real kicker is when I logged on to TV.com and there was a banner ad to see
a Fall Out Boy interview over the top of the Angel forum.
And now, Tome Cruise Kev just loves that typo. ;D
I had another strange dream last night with
yet another Celebrity cameo.
I'm not sure were this one came from.
In my dream I was back at Lesterville High School. I think this was one of
those dreams where I wasn't myself though. I was actually high school age in
my dream.
We were waiting for the bus - we had the second route so we had to stay at
school until the first route was home - and we decided to go explore.
They were building a new gym and we wanted to see it. This never happened in
real life so I'm not sure what was up with my dream.
We didn't even know where the new gym was being built which is really odd
since the school is extremely small.
We finally managed to locate the gym and it didn't really look new at all. I
remember walking in and there was some guys playing basketball in the gym.
Apparently it was ready but it was a secret or something. There was also some
snobby cheerleaders in the gym.
The floor was really springy. It felt like you were walking on a floor that
was badly built over the top of another floor. It was really strange.
The guys were playing shirts and skins teams for basketball. Tom Cruise was
on the skin side. Yeah, that Tome Cruise.
Only in my dream he was fat. Not Olaf The Troll fat but he was pretty pudgy
around the middle.
I remember thinking in my dream how strange that was. He had belly flab
hanging down. So not attractive.
I have no idea where I came up with that dream. I don't even like Tom Cruise
nor do I ever think about him.
I also never dream about Lesterville ever so it was pretty odd.
Finally, a ghost named Chuck.
That was a pretty cool dream Bango.
Nearly as good as some of mine. ;D
I had another odd dream last night. I actually had a pretty hard time
sleeping well last night. First I woke up and I was really hot. It felt like
I was sleeping on my heating pad - I sometimes do that for girly problems even
though you're not supposed to. It's either that or not sleeping at all 'cause
of extreme pain.
Well, I wasn't sleeping on the heating pad and I have no idea why I was hot
but I opened my window to cool off.
So then I fall back to sleep and start having a dream about work. They really
do need to start paying me for those.
In my dream several of us had to work a double shift for some reason. It was
all day people who would never work at night.
Michelle, Joy and I had to stay until close to help. Tammy, our store
manager, sent us to take some big thing to a storage building.
I don't know what the thing was, I just know it required the three of us to
carry it. The outside of the restaurant was completely different than real
life. In real life we have a shed out back where we store things. It's
pretty small.
In my dream we had to walk up the street to a large building. As we were
walking along we passed a college - which is also not realistic since there is
no college in Farmington.
I was entertaining Michelle and Joy with stories about a ghost that haunts the
college. I don't remember the stories now but they were pretty detailed in my
dream.
I kinda remember us stopping at some building to use the bathroom on our way
back but I don't remember what happened in there.
Then we stopped inside a large kitchen area. Apparently the ghost was often
seen there so I was showing it to them.
Michelle threw a cookie across the room and it stopped in midair and came
whizzing back at us. It was like someone that we couldn't see had caught the
cookie and threw it back.
It was pretty cool but it also freaked us out a bit so we ran out of the room.
We saw some guys outside and we were telling them what happened.
The guys told us the ghost's name was Chuck. We stayed and talked to them
for awhile and then I remembered that we were supposed to go back to work.
I asked Michelle how mad she thought Tammy was going to be since we'd been
gone for a long time.
Then I woke up and I was freezing. It was way too cold outside last night to
have the window open.
I wanted to write down the dream then while it was fresh in my mind but it
wasn't time for me to be up yet so I went back to sleep - after closing the
window.
