Cordy and Xander They were wrong for each other but I loved watching them together. All that hiding in closets and making out, meanwhile arguing in public. Then Xander cheating on her (bet no one saw that coming, the geek cheating on the cheerleader) and her wish that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale. Gave us VampWillow. Bored Now
Xander and Anya were great together as well, especially since they were really right together. I love the first time they have sex when Anya comes to Xander's basement apartment. The shot of Xander with the juice box is so funny. I don't know how they got that past the censors.
It was also fun to watch Spike and Buffy together. To watch their relationship progress from infatuation on Spike's part, to Buffy using Spike, and finally to them becoming friends. Buffy believing in Spike ultimately helped save him from the first.
I loved both the Willow/Tara combo and the Willow/Oz combo. It was obvious Willow really loved them both. Then she looses Oz because she cheats on him, but they make up. Then she looses Oz because he cheats on her. She finds love again with Tara only to have it taken away by Warren.
Buffy and Angel were very melodramatic together, at least when he wasn't evil. I think they are truly soulmates, just not as much fun to watch as the others. I did enjoy the whole Angelus trying to get back at Buffy for making him feel arc. Gave us some great tragic moments, like the death of Miss Calander and finally Buffy having to kill Angel to save the world.
Were there other choices? I've been writing so much I forgot if we had other couples to choose from

For 'other,' Giles/Jenny, Willow/Kennedy and Wesley/Cordelia are a couple of couples to consider.

Riley: I'm cowboy guy.
How very true
The whole Riley/Buffy relationship doesn't stand a chance on this poll.

Giles and Jenny is definietely a contender. It was said what happened, and Giles never really had a proper love interest after that.
Giles and Anya was hilarious in 'Tabu Rasa' but not really a couple to count.
Angel and Buffy, way to obvious a choice and would be number one if it werent for one other relation - Willow and Oz. They were perfect for each other, they loved each other, and understand each other. Unfortunately, Willow being gay kind of shattered this illusion - but in my eyes, what they were is what love is all about.

As much as I loved Oz, I have a special fondness for Willow/Tara. Especially in Once More with Feeling and in Xander's dream in Restless! ;D Actually, I liked them pretty much all of the time, and Tara was one of the few sweet people left by the end of season 6 when she died.

An unpleasant sloppy kiss sealed the deal on that 'relationship.'
