They all get my allergies acting up.
It's so hard to choose between Jenny, Joyce, Angel, and Buffy's death in The Gift.
I ultimately went for Joyce's death. Anya's speech about not understanding why Joyce is dead is just such a heartbreaker.

Jenny deserved it? Huh? All she did was go keep an eye on Angel like her family told her to. Really I don't think she betrayed anybody. Her family didn't tell her to warn Buffy not to sleep with Angel, which would've helped out a lot! Her death was the first permanent death of an established BtVS character, it was a powerful scene and I for one was surprised. I thought for sure Buffy was going to show up and save her. The instant finality of it was powerful.
I would've also picked Spike's death in ''Chosen' but I already knew at the time that he was joining the cast of ''Angel''. They really should've kept that a big secret. Tara's death was pretty much shown in the preview of the show, which also lessened the impact.
Anya's death took me by surprise, and I think it was also powerful in the ''casualty of war'' way that it happened.
Joyce's death was the only one not caused by evil in some way, which makes it the most sobering one on the show.
And a shout out to the writers for the excellent ''Ted''. I thought that was a really good metaphor for ''conniving, manipulative'' men who prey on divorced women with kids. I'm not saying all men who date divorced or single moms are like that, but it's a hazard that women do face after their divorce. Some guy comes along who seems like Mr. Perfect, and then he turns into a real sociopath.

I thought Emma Caulfield really missed the mark with that little speech in "The Body". A quite rubbish moment in an otherwise powerful episode.

What, are you insane!? Have we learned nothing from the pudding?
She nailed that scene. It gets me everytime. I mean she's being her annoying usual self, totally pissing Willow off, and its all because she just doesn't understand death.
Death is hard, and it's a very emotional scene. Especially with Ally's reactions to her speech.

Absolutely. Less grammatically correct might be hard to believe, but more insane, no problem. But he's right about Jasmine.

The only bit in "The Body" that gets me every time is Dawn's reaction in the school. NOT crazy.

For a week after 'Seeing Red' I was like "Tara can't be dead. She just got in the main credits. You don't kill somebody off when they get into the main credits," and then of course she was dead.
