WarningThis thread will probably contain spoilers for all 14 Firefly episodes. That includes the ones that didn't air in the US. It's such a great show. I'm optimistic of a renewal and so I'm speaking in the present tense. Let's all go and see Serenity, huh? Waddya say? *prepares to high-five*

*High Fives*
Can't wait to find [glow=red,2,300]Serenity[/glow]
I'm making everyone I know go and see this movie. Well, trying to persuade everyone I know to see this movie anyway.

I will be seeing 'Serenity' several times, probably. And I will bring everyone I know with me.
So that's four people, then.
Let's just hope we end up with a second season of 'Firefly'.

What are everybody's favourite episodes?
I can't decide between "Out Of Gas" and "Objects In Space". The commentaries for both episodes are very good as well.
I also think Jubal Early must surely be one of the best single episode characters to ever appear in a Joss Whedon show. That guy is class. ;D

I really liked 'Ariel'. Apart from, you know, that thing with the blue hands. Is it okay to post spoilers here? I suppose, with the warning at the top. But anyway, my favourite is probably 'Ariel'. Although it changes a lot. I used to prefer 'The Message'.
But yes, Jubal Early was the best villain. Ever.

My favs include War Stories, Serenity, The Message, and Out of Gas. It's so hard to choose just one.
Stupid FOX, why'd they have to cancel the show? For those of you who don't watch Firefly and think it had poor ratings, while it's true Firefly had poor ratings by FOX's standards, it actually had better ratings than either Buffy or Angel did. Kind of puts things in perspective huh?
So if you are putting off watching the show because you think it won't be good you should stop putting it off. Go out and rent the DVD's for crying out loud. You are missing a great show.
Go on, we'll wait.
Oh, and go watch Serenity when it comes out in theaters.

I liked [in no particular order] ''Our Mrs. Reynolds'' especially when Saffron tried to ''play'' Inara, Inara knew she was trouble right from the start. Everyone else seemed smitten with her. ''Bushwhacked'' was a real nail biter. But ''Out of Gas'' was tops. BTB, when I say Saffron tried to play Inara, I mean that she tried to trick her, just in case anyone across the ocean isn't familiar with that slang meaning of the word.

I've just downloaded the DVD rip of Firefly (took me a while - over 5 Gigs!) so I've only seen the pilot. But so far, I like what I see. I'm glad it's a character driven show - just like anything from Joss is.
The western stylings don't get in the way of the sci-fi - in fact, it's nce to see a show that doesn't go overboard on the technobabble like Star Trek does. I suppose it's there to emphasise the frontier atmosphere of the show.
Mal seems to be a typical Han Solo-esque style guy, but that's no bad thing - and I do like his relationships with Zoe and Jayne - I must admit, Jayne is the coolest one there, in my opinion. I like the guy!
So I'll watch the other 13 episodes, and see where it goes.
A thumbs up from me all round, so far.

Glad to hear you're giving it a go ITL. I must say of all the people that I know that watch Firefly, Jayne is almost always an early favourite. Not saying that his best moments have already passed but he seems to make a quick impression. ;D

Great to know you love the show
I'm trying to tell everyone how good it is. It's amazing that some of the Buffy/Angel fans at TV Tome won't give the show a shot just because it's catagorized as a space/western.
It's a Joss Whedon show, what more do you need to know.
Plus it's bloody great Especially when viewed in the correct order.
I can't wait until I get my Firefly DVD back so I can watch it again. I loaned it to a friend at work who is also into the show now

I myself wouldn't have watched a show in the space/western category, but I'll watch anything Joss Whedon writes. So if he were to start making the dreaded chick flicks or buddy cop movies, I would watch those too that's how much I trust his creative vision. Apologies to anyone who likes chick flicks and buddy cop movies

I've tried telling people about it, but when they look at the box and see the spaceship on the front, they just say: "You actually like this?!"
A few weeks ago I was at a sleepover with some friends and I was going to put 'Firefly' on, but the DVD player wouldn't work! However, I will continue trying. At least I got my mum and brother into it.
