"The Quiet Man" is actually pretty good. I really like Maureen O'Hara though. WGN used to always show it on St. Patrick's Day, but I think someone bought the rights so thay rarely show it anymore.
I always liked Steven King's book of short stories, "Night Shift". The one about the smoking clinic was good.

I liked the movie "The Attic Expeditions" which is an indy film with Seth Green in it.
He's pretty much the reason I watched it. It's pretty good, but very strange.
If you like odd movies you might like that one.
It's got a similar feel as "Donnie Darko". I heard them talking about that one on Tech TV so I had to check it out.
It's pretty cool but very much on the strange side of things.
I really enjoy odd movies that you have to watch several times to try and figure out.
And then there's our family holiday tradition, "Pink Floyd: The Wall".
That movie kicks serious butt, there's always something new to discover.
My sister told me that "Tommy" is really good but I haven't seen that one yet. I'm not sure why really. She has it so sometime during my break I'm going to have to borrow it.

I liked Seth Green in "Greg the Bunny". There were a couple of episodes that were very funny. They didn't give it enough of a chance.

I believe they used "Quitters, Inc." in the movie Cat's Eye with Drew Barrymore. That's a pretty good movie.
Also, "The Lawnmower Man" and "Children of the Corn" are in that book, both were made into movies.
And "Trucks" was the basis for the movie "Maximum Overdrive" which has loads of AC/DC songs in it.
My favorite story from that book is "The Last Rung on the Ladder". It's only about 5 pages long and it's one of the saddest things you'll ever read. Very excellent story.

There is one story in the book that really creeped me out at the time. A guy is telling a psychiatrist about all the times something weird has happened in his life. At the end of each story he says that the closet door was only open a crack and he thought he saw something moving in the closet. I still think of that story whenever I see a closet door that is only open a crack.

Would that be "The Boogeyman"? I haven't read that one yet, that I remember.
It's been awhile since I've read the short stories. I've had my book so long it's falling apart.
I'm not sure I ever really got scared by any of his stories, but I do think of "It" everytime I go past a sewer grating.
And in "The Dark Tower" on the of characters can change into a huge spider which is really creepy since I hate spiders and all.
But "The Dark Tower" isn't really a horror story, it's more like an epic fantasy western. Very good series.

I haven't read that one. I actually haven't read many of his. Maybe I'll stop by the library on my way home tomorrow.

"The Dark Tower" series is an excellent read. There are 7 books in the series though, the first one is "The Gunslinger".
I'm currently reading the last one. It's different from his other books.
I'd also recommend reading "It", "Salems Lot", "The Shinning" and "The Stand". They're some of my favorities by him.
Also, "Rage" and "Thinner" which are two of the books he wrote under the name Richard Bachman.
I like pretty much everything that I've read of his with the exception of "The Tommyknockers".
I'm not sure why, but I don't much care for that book. Most of his other books I've read at least twice.
And I read "It" so much that my book fell apart.

WTF?! ITL leaves for a few days and the entire place goes to shiite. I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove anything.

We were just talking, I swear. Go back to page one of this thread if you don't believe me.
The rest of this group of threads seems to have vanished into the Twilight Zone, but you can still get to the old Caritas and The Basement though the secret back door.

I watched Salem's Lot on TNT a few months ago, and I actually liked it.
I am not a book person, although I like to read every now and again.
So how is everyone this day after Christmas?
