Since I'm the only one who's posted pictures recently:
• I typed "Al Gore" into Google Image Search. • Picked the first picture that was a good enough size. • Wrote on the picture with paint. • Added a picture of a sombrero for the second one.

Hello everyone, My name is Heather. I feel like I know you all already. I have a lot of reading to do, but I follow along with Grailwolf many times when he is on. Due to the fact that we share the computer, I will most likely not post very often so that Grailwolf can have his chance here. This place and the people here are very much an important part of his life so I don't want to be a hog or anything. So......a little about me. Grailwolf got me into Buffy and I am now a lover of anything Joss created....Take that as you will.....wait, no, don't. I love to watch his stuff...not his stuff stuff, his shows n stuff.....aww forget it. You know what I mean. I Love to sing, and am currently looking for a good band to jam with. By the way ITL was that you who posted the songs from your old band? Or was it Teal? Whomever it was, I was thoroughly impressed and am ready to jam with you guys as soon as you can move to Northern Virginia! I am a huge Tori Amos fan, you might say I am a toriphile actually......mmm Tori...... Other than that, my music collection is varied, though I lean towards some eclectic stuff. My favorite book is "Women Who Run With the Wolves" by: Clarissa Pinkola Estes PHD. I am always reading something....sometimes a few somethings depending on my mood. So I think that's a good start.... Any questions? Glad to be here! Much love n stuff, Gypsy

Glad you could make it!
Yeah, it was me that posted the songs - but the band broke up a couple of years ago, so no jamming I'm afraid! lol
Feel free to leap into any conversations that are going on - witty and daft with a bit of thoughtful seriousness seems to be the main style round here - Grailwolf fits in perfectly, BTW!
Hope you like it here.
;D

Thanks ITL!
I already love it here. Don't know how witty I am, but at least I won't have any problems with the daft. I am sure Grailwolf will appreciate the comment. I think this is his second home.

So good to meet you again, sgg -- don't think we've seen you since the Bash or thenabouts.
Speaking as an EWF'91, it's always good to welcome and encourage more Toriphiles whereë'er (that word looks better in speech than in print -- sorry) they might be found. Two concerts -- yep, I'm off the beaten concert route -- but the "To Venus and Back" (Mpls) and "Scarlet's Walk" (GF) support tours were outstanding. The GF concert was astonishing -- so much good.
We have been enjoying the heck out of Marc whenever he can stop by -- so much wise, so much funny. Glad you can sneak in once in a while, too.
Welcome, Heather.

Thanks so much for the welcome TJ!
I love reading your posts.
I am very glad to know a fellow toriphile! I saw her in Dallas in '97 for the first time, then in Oklahoma City in '98, went to the Tori and Alanis 5 and a half week tour in Ohio, but because of screwed up travel arrangements I missed Tori completely. I was devastated! Alanis was good though. I have also seen her twice in DC with Marc. Every show has been different and amazing. Did you notice during the beginning of the Scarlet's Walk concert that they were burning sage? I am sure you did, now that I think of it, and if not they talk about it on the "Welcome to Sunny Florida" dvd. I thought that was awesome.
Sorry to hear the band broke up.....I guess long distance jamming would be a little difficult anyhow.

Indeed I did notice the sage. I didn't know if it was to bless or to mask -- might have been a bit of both
Oh yeah, Alanis was part of the Mpls show wasn't she? The night I was there she was experimenting with her new Ronco Heavy Hair Workout™, and I wasn't really there to see her anyway. Tori kicked ass both times. I loved her revision of "Crucify" in her Scarlet show -- impossibly good (didn't even recognize it at first -- brilliant!).
Thanks for the nice compliment, btw. Fun group of folks in here. Enjoy!

I think it was to bless. They started the show with "Wampum Prayer" so I think it was also good to get everyone in the spirit. Not great with acronyms so you will have to help me out. What is MPLF and GF? I have to agree with you on the version of crucify. I also love it when she plays two instruments at once, it's absolutely amazing!

Tori was in Minneapolis (Mpls), Minn. in 1999, and in Grand Forks (GF) last April.
I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek about the sage, and I was impressed with the blessing ceremony that opened the show. As for masking, I wasn't personally aware of any other ... smoking in the auditorium, but it wouldn't have been out of place in that crowd.
You didn't ask about EWF'91 because you probably don't have to, but in that this is a public forum open to people who aren't (somehow) Tori fans, it stands for Ears With Feet, which is another term for Tori fans, and I started listening to her in '91.
Wow ... so many years of good, good music. ;D

I just realized that I never replied to the post in the Tome where you mentioned your EWF status, TJ. I was probably '92 or thereabouts. I'd heard of Y Kant Tori Read as I have always had friends with eclectic/weird musical taste, but I never heard any of their stuff til after Little Earthquakes came out in '92. Being lucky enough to live in the DC area, I had access to WHFS who've been big friends of Tori since the beginning. They like to support the local talent. Still, I suspect that I didn't hear anything of hers til that summer when HFS started playing "Crucify" in rotation. Love was instantaneous. Since then I've been a bit of Tori-vangelist, and have been responsible for quite a few conversions. And they've all been luckier than I have in getting to meet her, getting autographs, etc. *sighs* Still, doing good works should be their own reward. I guess.
