Well, "Why we fight" showed us that when an ensouled vampire bites someone they don't automatically get a soul. So I think basically nothing would have changed.
Oh but Angel would've staked her, I doubt Spike would've stopped him.

agreed.
I was just wondering what the results would have been if Darla had gotten ensouled.
I don't think we've seen a from the start ensouled vamp.
Can any vampire with a soul have a viable pregnancy with anyone else of the opposite sex?
(tries to imagine the offspring of 2 souled vampires.)
ignore me. I've been imagining Connor's genes with Dawn's since they both hit puberty.

Yeah, my daddy's Angel. What does that make me?
And if anyone says a whiny androgynous brat ... Nah, I'd say more of an annoying, Oedipus poser who was a tad touchy concerning just about everything. So, then he is Connor after all! ;D

Could there have been a Wesley in the woodpile?
((our ex-Watcher wasn't always a mench,you know.)

So we have Darla, Spike, Angel and Wes in the woodpile.
Sounds painful

"Why We Fight" didn't prove anything, tho. Lawson asked Angel if he had a soul as well, and Angel said he didn't think it worked that way.
But when you sire a new vampire, you mingle the new sire's blood with demon essence. It shouldn't matter if someone has a soul, but it seems to, in that Lawson seemed pretty self-aware, and Holden Webster seemed to be pretty "soulful" as well.
Maybe you become a vampire with a little more sentience than maybe some of them have, because your demon essence is infused with soul.
Lawson said he never enjoyed the killing. Angelus took mad pleasure in it. So the soul's got some effect, yes?
William's personality, while wet, was strong enough to influence the kind of vamp he became. 'Course, Dru was a nutjob and her demon wasn't completely in control either.
Funny old world.
That vampire in "Lessons" was a right tricky bastage, even though he was probably sired by your garden variety vamp.
"I think I'm caught on a root." ;D
