What do you do in Fable? I've always wanted to know what the games were about. At the moment I'm playing Halo. I'm so behind when it comes to games. I played it years ago but got scared when I got to the portion of the game that released the Flood. Something about being trapped in narrow passageways with hundreds of parasitic aliens just scares me.

I played it years ago but got scared when I got to the portion of the game that released the Flood. Something about being trapped in narrow passageways with hundreds of parasitic aliens just scares me. Fable is a role-playing game where you have to save the world from various evils - depending on which game you're playing.
I never played the first one so I can't say how it is but the second and third game are fun.
I'm now the Queen on Fable III. I have to make lots of decisions to try to save my kingdom. I have to raise lots of money for the treasury to protect my people from upcoming evil. I also have to try and keep promises I made on my way to the thrown. Keeping them will cost me money, but help my morality. Not keeping them will help me have more money to save everyone but will make me a tyrant.
You can play as good or evil and all the decisions you make will affect the story. Plus, you can get married if you want to. Have a family - or several families if that's your style.
You can have sex with as many people as you want - which does affect what type of person you are and can give you an STD.
I'm trying to play as a good character. I did accidentally murder a guard battling Mercenaries which sucked 'cause everyone was calling me murderer for awhile. They make it too easy sometimes to make a mistake if you're not paying close enough attention to what you're doing.
And, once you screw up you've screwed up. You can't have multiple saves like some games. You have to live with the consequences of all your actions. This makes the game both cool and frustrating.
I highly recommend it.

Sounds cool. Might give it a go after I'm done with Halo. Currently up to the Flood levels. I only play during the day though.

He keeps trying to get me to play but I suck at shooters on consoles. I'm used to using a keyboard and mouse for those games and can't quite get fast enough with a controller.
Of course it might help if I tried it for more than a few minutes, but I get frustrated and quit. I play games to relax, not annoy myself.

I'm not good with shooters on consoles either but you can get Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 for the computer. I'm guessing you're like me when you play shooters on consoles; you fire wildly into the air and die a lot.
It's a good game once you get into it. The soundtrack is pretty amazing.

My son has the Halo games for the Xbox so it'd be a bit of a waste to buy them again for my PC. I just need to suck it up and learn to use the controller for shooting.

Anyone watch The Venture Brothers? I was watching a recent episode and I heard a voice that was very familiar. It took me a minute to realize it was Nathan Fillion. Just the one episode, but it was fun to discover it that way.

Listen to this. Then listen to it again. Before long you'll be humming or singing it under your breath without realizing it. Fact!
