This was on the Steampunk Forum in a tutorial on making aged posters. Aww... Thats cool. Which reminds me, I met Jewel Staite today. We had a Sci Fi convention down here. I went all shy and she thought it was cute.
So how are you all? Have a Happy Easter? Long time no see.

Welcome back,NWT!!! It's been waaaaay too long since we've seen you. I'm glad you got to meet Ms. Staite. I'm glad she got to meet you!!! Easter was quiet but good. We're getting the rain we've missed and some nice spring weather. The plants are looking lush and the wildlife is in need of Weight Watchers. I think everyone that was going to get the virus de jour has already had it.. I've recently completed playing Mrs. Henry Lafayette Dubose in "To Kill a Mockingbird." That was a blast but I'm ready to rest a while. April 25 will be the tenth anniversary of the Red Hat Society and our town is having a big to-do on the town square. I'm supposed to be helping disorganize the event. Y'all do someting fun and frivolous on that day as a token of solidarity with us decrepit divas, o.k.? I wish for all of you days that are progressively shiny and full of salty goodness.

Ironically one person on our group bought a shirt that said "Shalom Yall" It was definetly one of those types of trips that you just can't forget randomly. It was 10 days of action from 8am to 6pm every single day. It was actually easier to wake up early there than it was here. Talk about major jetlag when I got back. We started out in Tel Aviv near Tiberius and saw some major sites over there working our way by bus up to Tel Dan and Caesaera Phillippi. What a beautiful region. Its near the border of Syria and Jordan. Really fun we were all getting out playing around the fence for both countries borders since they had an electrical fence sectioning it off so you could not just walk to that country. I can just feel the love. You can actually see Syrian bomb shelters on the what is now part of Israel side. The northern part is green, lushous and full of delicious fresh water streams and waterfalls. As you work down back to the Eastern side iit turns to a desert wasteland. We traveled down to Jericho (which is in the west bank). I took an illegal photo of our West Bank/Israel checkpoint. In Jericho, its like a third world country. we were approached by a bunch of Palestianians who told us to go back to America and say we want peace in the land. Coming out of Jericho, we went to the Dead Sea which is 34% salt and it is so salty that nothing can live in it nor can you drown. You just float there. That was very interesting. Out of the Dead sea region we traveled on to Jerusalem where we saw many historical places. We were there on Palm Sunday so we had the novel idea to have a worship service on the top of Mount of Olives. We had lots of fun in Jerusalem. It was very fun trying to bargin with the Muslims in the Old city(which is where I got most of my buying done) Bordering Jerusalem is Bethlehem(which is also in the West Bank) so it was also like entering a third world country. We had the crazy chance of being admist a riot/funeral/ralley that was going on that was freakinga lot of our group members out. Security was rushing us since they were all chanting and shouting. Israel killed 3 Palestianisns earlier that they have been searching for since the 80s and kids were out there trying to stone the policeman. I was actually beside the boy I saw do that. So freaky, the Church of the Nativity where Christ was born and right outside the door a Palestianian ralley. We almost saw a guy get shot. He was coming toward the check point and our driver told us he told the guy coming toward the guards said "if you come any closer I'll blow your brains out". That would have been freaky to witness ! Food was pretty good. They love boiled eggs for breakfast. And they absolutely love fish for dinner. It varied from night to night. I'll post more and pictures later

Wow Reb. That trip sounds exciting and scary all at the same time. I'm not sure I'd want to be in that kind of danger - though it would be cool to see those places.
My easter was good. We went to Brad's Uncle's house for a huge family dinner. We watched his little cousins do an Easter egg hunt. It was so adorable.
Brittney's Easter basket was bigger than her. She finally just left it in the yard and kept bringing the eggs to the basket.
I also spent most of the day burning cds for everyone. Most of them know very little about computers so once one person had me burn a cd I kept having to make copies of things for everyone else too.
That and I got sick. So I had to miss work on Monday last week. I thought it was something I ate at first but it lasted way too long for that so I guess it was some wacky flu virus.
Now I'm battling sinus issues - along with pretty much everyone at work. We're all coughing and sneezing. Don't you just love Spring?

Hey, all! Cordy: Long time, no "he-llo"! ;D *melts*
I so miss those "he-llo's"
I need to get my computer sorted out so I can hopefully have some great online time. This computer doesn't have the best sound in the world. It just has crappy old packard bell monitor speakers attached since it's not usually used for anything much.

WB,Cordy!!! Rest and do LOTS of fluids (drinking and neti pot.) These mini-bugs aren't nearly as much fun as vacations and holidays with cute kinfolk. Germ-free to all!!!
