Dangit! I was just thinking about him too. I heard about Estelle Getty and his avatar at TV.com is Sophia. Py, you really need to stop by more often. Yes, you do.
Also, we need to hear your thoughts on "Dr. Horrible". Please tell us you watched it.

* tries to summon Py *
Hmmm. Must've used the wrong inflection. There's plenty of Dutch apple here if anyone's hungry.

Dang! Dang! Double-darned dang! Missing Py is a bad thing. We need updates on him and the critters and the Feller. I hope y'all are doing well. (takes some of the Dutch Apple pie) It may not be magical but between Red Hat,the Shakespeare Festival, the new theatre group, the uptown street fair ,the "Weed 'em & Reap" garden club and the county fair (home to prize vegetation and alien poultry),we've been sitting on the porch and enjoying a lazy person's apple dessert. Take one container of Country Crock apples. Heat as directed. Add premium grade ice cream . (We used Blue Bell's 'Homemade Vanilla.) Accompany with cinnamon graham crackers. Enjoy. So,how are y'all enjoying the summer?

I didn't know Blue Bell had migrated out of the Lone Star State. They do make a good ice cream.

I have been invoked! Bow down before me and tremble, mere mort...
Oh, hey. It's you guys!
It's been a strange spring and early summer here. The critters and feller are all fine. I've been laid up with the back thing since we last spoke. Walked with a cane for a few months. But now it's finally on the mend. I can stand up straight, walk for extended periods without assistance, and my vicodin intake is back to beiong strictly recreational.
I also have a hopeful line on getting the book about the Feller published - more on that later, don't want to jinx anything.
And the best of news - The doctor says in a couple of weeks I can get checked out to go back to active duty with the fire department. Been on medical leave since the beginning of May.
XOXOXOXO

Your presence has summoned me Py!
Glad to hear your back is getting better. My back is always on the brink of putting me down for the duration. So far so good though..
However, I did manage to test it to it's limits in June. My Feller and I packed up the house, baby, and dog and moved across country to my Mother's in Oklahoma.
The feller has finally had to listen to his arthritic knees and go into early retirement. And so... we can't afford PA anymore while we wait for him to get sorted out on disability. Hence the move across the country.
I must say, I miss Pennsylvania and hope we can go back someday.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to get a job as a therapist with the United States Army. If anyone needs therapy right now, I'd say the Military does right right? ;D
We just got our internet back on Friday so yay us.
Despite the fact that we've uprooted and had to change our game plans, we are adjusting really well and I'm excited to be able to get my career started while he stays home with the baby.
Anywho, I'll pop back in and see what u slackers are up to again soon.
See Auntie! Your powers are even stronger than you thought!
On a side note...Blue Bell has indeed migrated out of TX...They've had it in OK for ages....When I moved to PA I lived in a place called Blue Bell. Needless to say they'd never heard of the ice cream. So I suppose they haven't quite taken over the world yet
I wish I could get in on the insights into the latest show but I just got my cable back and haven't been watching much of anything lately. So, I guess I'll just have to nod and pretend I know what you guys are talking about ;D
K gunna wander off for now...
Hugz 'n' what-not!

Yeccchh.. I keep missing everybody!!! I'm glad for the recovery from bad backs and cross-country moves. I hope the painful knees heal as mine did and don't stay agonizing and disabling. (My husband's acted up this evening and, stoic that he is,he took 2 propoxephene -N 100 w/APAP 650 tabs plus 2 tabs of methocarbamol @ 500 mg. each ,220 mgs. naproxen sodium,200 mgs. ibuprofen and a migraine formula caplet: aspirin, acetamenophin and caffeine-all in four hours. His knees aren't even supposed to be bad compared to the Purple Goddess' consort.) Py,forgive the nudge mode but an impaired body eats up major meds in a way that a healthy body doesn't. I wouldn't reccommend the 'recreational' indulgence of vicodin because it could become habit-forming or it could be less effective when it's medically warranted. (Keep using canes,though-they can be plain snazzy even for the hale n' hardy. ) Feigy,I'm glad y'all are settling in well in Oklahoma . Having your folks there,a stay-at-home dad role for your darlin' and new career opportunities can be quite positive. Working for the gubmint has its good points, too. I still kinda wish you'd moved everybody to Tennessee. Our Dr. Purple Goddess could buy a new, bionic bod for all of us with the insanity going on in my hometown over the substitution of a Muslim holiday for Labor Day among the eight paid days offered the members of a certain union at our Tyson Foods plant. With all the hoo-rah,we've yet to catch any side of the issue getting their facts straight. It's been a tempest in a tea pot and none of the tanna leaves would have gotten in hot water if anybody had applied the least bit of common sense. How about each team member gets eight paid days off of their choosing and said choices must be submitted in advance? Emergencies or other time off could come from a designated number of unpaid personal days. (That's not counting authorised leaves for family leave, recuperation, military service, jury duty, etc.) Instead,we're getting world-wide news reports that imply we've got lethal cases of xenophobia or that Bedford County has plans to institute sha'ria law. The closest thing to the truth is the suspicion that our local bosses at the chicken plant aren't stupid or excessively concerned with political correctness. (It's long been assumed that they belong to the food service branch of Wolfram and Hart.) Folks are asking who is being set up and why. Are we cynical? Yep. Do we think the immigrations that have occured in the last twenty-five years could have been handled better? Yes. Do we think an adversarial relationship among all our residents will accomplish anything of benefit to anyone? A few do and they are currently building boat docks for their ocean front propert in Arizona.. Hugs to all!

Thanks, darlin'! We couldn't be world renown for being Springfield's rival. NOOOOO!!! Shebvul has to get its 15 minutes of fame for soring horses or having smoldering unrest between the Somali refugees and the local rednecks. (Trust me,there's enough legitimate injury and stupid behavior to go around.) Most of the time,my hometown is half Walton's Mountain and half Mayberry (with a little Evening Shade thrown in.) Then,we have moments like these where we're equal parts Maggody and Arkham built on a Hellmouth. Oh well,it's already cooling off so I hope we don't stir up anything else just to offer sound bites. I love that I can find fun and support and sanity here. Thanks again,Nick!

LOL you know, I had heard about that Tyson thing and I had no idea you lived around there.
As for moving to TN... Poor Bill, I think he'd love to visit, but considers the south too scary for Northerners
I don't know though, if we he can get him down to visit my Grandmother he'll probably fall in love with the area and demand we move there right away.
Your guy sounds like mine though, he was taking lots of pain meds for his knees. Course now that he can't work anymore he has no med insurance so he pops a LOT of Ibuprofins... His doctor told him he needs knee replacements and would be a good candidate for them. But even when he was working and had insurance, they basically said replacements were for 80 year olds who would only have time to wear out the new knees once before they croak.
Wow with that logic, I think I'll start smoking again HAH
Which, by the way, I haven't done in 3 months! For anyone ready to quit, I definately recommend Chantex (sp).
O.K. I'm done with my little commercial heh.
I'll catch u guys soon I hope

I'll catch u guys soon I hope My Mom started taking that over a year ago, and she quit right away. She was a heavy chain smoker so if she can quit anyone can.
I'm so sorry to hear about your back Py. I know how awful that can be. Mine has been trying to go out the past couple of days. So far it's staying at 'annoying' and hasn't made it to 'excruciating' yet.
It's so good to hear from you guys again. I've really missed everyone. I hate not having a enough time to get online, and it sucks even more when everyone else doesn't have the time to keep in touch as well.

Bummer on the back painage to all.
Well, I'm still jobless but I do have another stringing opportunity. I just gots to get confirmation from one editor to make sure I can string for the new paper.
Anyways, Py, what do you think of the Brett Farva saga?

Poor Brett, he shoulda stayed retired. Not to be mean; but in a way, he deserves getting traded to the Jets.
But I can understand the problem of not knowing when to quit. As someone with an addictive personality, he's probably scared s**tless about what to do when he is no longer playing football. He's not like John Elway who had car dealerships to focus on.
He might even be worried about getting back on the sauce when there's no football to keep him busy.
Meh, just my take on the whole thing really.
Someone get that man a hobby!
