Hey Karen.. Sorry to take so long with the photos, but the guy I needed to get them from was off last week. We don't have a logo as such, just a pen & ink drawing on our letterhead. Also, this is some language that we use on our closing powerpoint presentations... with that thought, I just decided to include one of our presentations that maybe would give you a feel for our system and what we are about. This presentation is one we give to new teachers. All teachers are part of KTRS. Protecting & Preserving Teachers' Retirement Benefits Our Members come First! I don't know how you want to begin with this... different photos for the website would include retirement couples or individuals enjoying life. There is a website we like.... http://www.*****.com/... the photo bar, the blue background...

Cutlines: Jerry Schlag plays one of five accordions he currently owns.
or Jerry Schlag shows off a few of the trophies he has won for his musicanship.
By CLEO CANTLON Correspondent cecantlon@ndak.net
Minoter accordionist Gerald "Jerry" Schlag, a lifetime master musician, will be inducted into the Dakota Music Association's Hall of Fame May 19 in Aberdeen, S.D. While the honor officially includes him in the group of top music makers, his contributions to the music scene have been recognized for many years. "I came from a musical family," Schlag said. "My parents, Carl and Mary Ann Schlag encouraged us and all five children played an instrument." Jerry Schlag followed in the footsteps of his father, a professional accordionist who played with 12 bands, including Tommy Thompson's and Harry McFall's groups and, from 1955 to 1970 with the Waltz Kings. He also performed with the famed Whoopee John Wilfahrt in Minneapolis. Jerry Schlag, born in 1940 in Minot, graduated from Minot Model High School in 1959, attended Minot State University, and worked for 22 years at Minot Air Force Base before his retirement. "I got my first instrument, an accordion, when I was 10," he said. "I took six months of lessons from a Baptist preacher and when he moved out of town, my formal training ended." The musician was askedto play the bass horn while he attended Longfellow Elementary School, added the trumpet, valve trombone and piano. Later he was to play all those instruments in his father's bands. He later learned to play organ and string bass, playing most of his music by ear. But the accordion continued to be his favorite, with Frankie Yankovic and his Yanks band and Cleveland-style music his top influences. At MSU Schlag played the bass horn in the band and studied theory, harmony and conducting, but he said, "I never became much of a music reader." A bigger plus at the university was working with band director Dr. Schwarz, a fine clarinet player. "He and I worked a lot of the Minot clubs at this time," Schlag said. He dropped out of college to start a band called the Royal Kings, with Schlag playing the organ. "I did a lot of playing with a couple college friends in more than 35 clubs with live music that Minot had at that time," he said. "In my first year at college, I worked with a country western group, playing accordion and string bass, another instrument that I sort of learned how to get by on but was never proficient." The Royal Kings played six nights a week, between 1962 and 1970 in every town between Devils Lake and Williston, he said. Later Schlag joined Evan Cole's Orchestra, playing organ and accordion through 1978 when he joined the Downtowner Trio with guitarist Myron Damman and trumpeter Dave Soiseth. "They could play anything from the Clarinet Polka to something from Beethoven," he said, listing them among the best musicians with whom he has performed. In 1988 Schlag and Harley Morrison formed the Jolly Musicians, heavily into old-time and country-western music, and in 1995 Karen Rath invited him to work with her group, Karen and Fond Memories, an association still going strong today. "Karen plays keyboards, Bud Witty is on bass and me on accordion," Schlag said. "We are heavy on country western music but also do old-time, country gospel and some pop. We all do some vocal work." Schlag lists an astounding record of musical performances, ranging from weddings and funerals, talent shows, lutefisk dinners, the North Dakota State Fair, Williston's Oktoberfest, and bluegrass events such as Minot's Frozen Fingers festival. "I play six or seven times a year at Four Bears Casino," he added. One prime appearance is the Norsk Hostfest, where he was one of the originators of the accordion club. It began with about 12 or 15 people and has grown to more than 250 members. It provided an opportunity to play with another of his musical heroes, the late Myron Floren of Lawrence Welk band fame. Schlag also has played in seven accordion competitions, playing first in six and second in one. Other top accordionists the Minot man remembers included Walter Eriksson, Walter Ostanek, Lorren Lindevig, Florian Chmielewski, Larry Malmberg and Mike Aman. He has been a judge at Hostfest accordion competitions, has given accordion workshops, plays twice a month for the Northwest Polkateers dance club, and currently has four students on his favorite instrument. Schlag does accordion demonstrations for the Minot Area Council of the Arts in Minot schools and is a regular, doing volunteer playing at area senior citizens' clubs, retirement and nursing homes. "I play at least six days a week," Schlag said. He admits the 29-pound Pan accordion he usually plays gets heavy, but he added, "I'll keep playing until I can't lift it any more." The induction event at the Aberdeen Eagles Club begins with a 4 p.m. social hour, followed by dinner. Schlag and four others will be honored at 7 p.m. Jamestown accordionist Donald Willey, fellow member of the Hostfest accordion club and the Dakota Hall of Fame, nominated Schlag. A busload of Northwest Polkateers and other fans and friends expect to attend. The Dakota Musicians Association, organized in 1980, is open to anyone interested in music.

You know if nothing else, this thread helped me figure out why my first up email always copies to my clip board automatically -- which has been driving me nuts for awhile now.
I found the answer online:
Plaxo Toolbar for Outlook and Outlook Express - Plaxo Forums: Plaxo forces copy to clipboard in ....
-------
YEAY!
Now to get rid of Plaxo, which I sampled awhile ago and dont use anyhow.
