Are there any movies that are coming out that you want to see?
Personally, I want to see: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - looks really funny. House of Wax - looks interesting. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - a remake with Johnny Depp. Anything with him is usually pretty good, if not great. The Amityville Horror - looks scary.

Serenity (September 2005) - If you don't know what this is I have no idea why you're here. The Passion of the Clerks (Unknown) - A sequel to the 1994 movie Clerks., or if you aren't familiar with that movie this will be the sixth Jay and Silent Bob film.

House of Wax: Looks pretty typical to me. Our local theater used to show the original on Halloween. They even had it in 3D. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: I had been looking forward to this one, but the trailers have me worried. Passion of the Clerks you say?

House of Wax I so love my horror movies.
Oh, I'm sure there's more but I can't think right now.

The new Batman movie looks like it might have potential.

I think some friends of mine are going to go see that. Whats bad is that today in my English class. One of them tried to use Batman as a metaphor for something but that went belly up.

We have a drive in here too. Is the one in the Dells still running?
We used to go there all the time. Oh there is that one in Madison by the RollerDome.
G-d I used to go to both places --- years ago!

It was by the MATC (tech center location) up from the airport. I think that's 51? Gosh it's been awhile. Anyhow its where that meets East Washington Avenue. I think there is a Shakeys on the other side.
Anyhow down a bit (airport side) is where the Roller Dome & the drive Inn used to be.
Might both be gone now. It was awhile ago.

Drive-ins are making a real comeback here.
(Just as the old ones pretty well died.)
Same with skating rinks,bowling alleys,etc.
Part of it is nostalgia and the popularity of all things retro.
Part of it is folks are tired of cocooning with at home entertainment but in-house movies, plays, concerts, etc. are just too expensive.
They like the spontaneity of piling everyone in the car and going out without worrying about sitters, dress codes, falling asleep or getting restive.
You can even furnish your own food.
Whether you're a family or a gaggle of teenagers, that has its appeal.
There's an increasing sense of neighborhood and intergenerational camaraderie that wasn't part of the original package.
(Heck, folks HAD that then and were looking for ways of being separate and individual.)
Now,innocent,communal activities are back.
(Bunco and potluck anyone?)
Even churches and motivational speakers are using drive-ins and yesterday's activities = today's community centers.
Little wonder that we have so many good 'drive-in' type flicks to enjoy.
It's the perfect venue for selecting just how much of a 'group experience' you want to enjoy.

We have a drive in fully operational in the summer, just about 10 miles from where I live.
It's allot of fun for everyone. You can take in your own food and drink, the kids can run around and be loud. Heck, we even take the dog cuz she's so good she just stays in the van.
What theater can you be this comfortable in? Other than your own home?
