Info on posting pictures and avatars

To host a picture (or avatar) go to Imageshack:

Imageshack

Click on "browse", find the picture on your hard drive, and click "host it"

For pictures in your post, copy the topmost link (the one with around it), and paste into your post. For graphic signatures, design a smaller, rectangular picture, host as above, and paste the link into the signature box in your profile.

For avatars, copy the bottom link (the pure hyperlink), go into your profile, tick the box that says "I have my own pic", and paste the link into the box next to the tick.

For best results, choose an avatar picture that is square, and either 100x100 or 150x150 pixels in size. Change the custom avatar size to 100x100 for best results.

If anyone wants an avatar or graphic signature making, I would be happy to do it - just email me the image that needs adjusting, and I will email the Imageshack link of the avatar back to you - or post the source image yourself, and I'll post the link. Or even PM me about it.

[Edit:] And can we all (including me) keep the picture sizes no bigger than 800 pixels wide, as it messes with the width of the forum - makes it look weird! lol

Thought I'd move this avatar question here. Would posting the webpage I found it on consitute direct linking? I'm new to this lark, just asking advice before doing anything stupid. I have it on my actual computer, but Imagestation won't do it.

The image I was trying to post was at restless-slayer.com/icons.php? under Spike/JamesMarsters link, there's this great black and white shot of him with a cig. it's so Bysseing I found the icons link in arts and wallpaper/avatars thread, iw666 posted the link there. I would be forever grateful ;D

Also, I'm working on an avatar gallery - it's essentially a webpage or series of pages containing the avies that will be linked to through a link in the profile - clicking on an avie won't insert it into your profile, but it will provide you with the URL, ready to copy for pasting into the URL box of your avie in your profile.

I should have it done tomorrow.
