Bush is completely skirting around all the issues.
What does 9/11 have to do with Iraq? Absolutely nothing. He's essentially arguing that because we were attacked, it was right for us to just start lashing out in every direction.

Yes the troops in Iraq absolutely don't agree that they should come home soon.

George looks wizened. His facial expression is grandfatherly and pleasant, but he's spouting nonsense.
He just quoted unnamed Iraqi voters. This is entirely unattributed.

Yes the troops in Iraq absolutely don't agree that they should come home soon. Oh, of course. And we're winning! But what does that mean, exactly?
And he'll listen to "honest critics." That must mean I'm entirely dishonest.

To go into a war like this would be an act of recklessness and dishonor.

Yes, George. Tell us what reckless dishonor looks like.

All Americans will have a part in the success of this war.
Yep. Pony up, everyone.

The need for victory is so compelling.
He ought to empty his family's entire bank account until he's doing about as well as unemployed returning veterans.
G-d, he's disingenuous.
What about the loss of freedoms, Dubya?

He's taking absolutely no responsibility for the decision to enter the war.

Well that was reassuring. I completely support George W. Bush in everything he does now!

We do support our troops, George.
It's easier to buy that if there's any kind of move towards getting them out of harm's way.
George calling for peace on earth is right out of "1984."

Many families have loved ones that have had to do more than one tour of duty.
Enzo's Step-Grandma's Son-In-Law is probably going to have to go for his 3rd tour of duty over there this time next year.
I knew I shouldn't watch this. I'm so very annoyed right now.

The president is no more willing to listen to me than he was before this address.
That whole wiretap thing was completely ignored. His popularity will get a bump from this address because he's a "nice boy."
