I watched this episode again, and it is in fact quite good. There's a few things I want to say before I get to the point. This episode ended with the slayer army fighting against the oldest vampire army - which is very fitting since the 'Slayer' is really known as the 'Vampire Slayer'. Back to it's roots you could say. This is what Buffy is about - vampires, not demons. The only thing I dont get, is that it wasnt the Slayer army that saved the day. Yes, Willow's spell made it happen, but in the end, it wasnt the slayer that did it. In fact it wasnt even Spike (who is only a main character for the last 3 season) who did it. It was an amulet from the Angel series itself. What saved Buffy and crew is an accessory item from another series. This seems wrong somehow - cause the amulet was a last minute thing anyway. The origin and purpose wasnt even clear. Where did the amulet come from? and why? There's an whole slayer army out there. Evil must be having a hard time.

the amulet given to angel from the senior partners at w&h angel was surposed to wear it in the final ep but buffy told him to get lost so he give it to her and left there are many thoeries on way the senior partners gave angel the amulet so your guess is as good as anyone elses i doubt that in nfa the senior partners seem to have a nice size army

i think the senior partners wanted angel to wear the amulet so they had him under the finger/claws or what ever.

Yes, but even if that were true, why destroy an army of vampires - released by the first, presumaebly the source of all evil.
The amulet seems to be far too convenient to end a series

the senior parters didnt want anything else moving in on their Apocalypse so they were trying to get rid of the compatition

hmm. maybe the W&H guys wanted their super weapon to kill off any inconvenient vamps that were in the vicinity when it was used.
Alas, when it was triggered, the only vampires about were Spike (ready to sacrifice himself anyway) and the little bads.
