I know there are a quite a few video game fans here, and I think there should be a thread to discuss the game...so I created one. Right now I'm playing 24:The Game, and I have reached the glitch in the game...and for the life of me, I can't get pass it. I tried the techniques of getting by the glitch...but no luck. Other than that, the game is fun. Where the glitch is, I get to shoot Lindsey all I want, which is really fun. I get to kill people as Kim Bauer, which is sorts of funny.

I'm currently playing The Longest Journey: Dreamfall right now.
It's such a cool game. If you like adventure/role playing games with a really great story you may love this game.
I sure do. I really loved the first one too.

I really loved the first one too. Is it really that good. I loved the first one and I had planned to get this. Unfortunately, I got mixed reviews so it sort of put me off. I really do want to know what happen to Stark and Arcadia.

The fighting controls suck but that's just a small part of the game so it's not too terribly distracting.
The story is what matters and the story is excellent so far. I just love watching it unfold. I really hope they do a third one - and there's not such a long wait this time.
I really want to play the first one again. It's been so long.

Well, it looks like I will be getting it.
I loved the first one and in fact played trhough it once more a few months ago. The story between Arcadia and Stark is so fascinating and the way it was presented was brilliant. So were the characters.
I'm looking forward to Dreamfall but I'm worried from what I heard about the open endedness of the story.

I've finally gotten the game! Woohoo...
I got the Limited Edition which includes a book with all the art created. Also the game for the Longest Journey is on there as well - on 1 DVD! Although I have the original, having 1 DVD is better than 4 CDs.
The game is getting interesting, but it feels like they were trying to make the game into something it really wasn't. It feels like Fable, KOTOR, or Jade Empire but lacking in the combat parts.

I had the first game but I gave it to my Dad when I was done. I've been missing it since I played Dreamfall.
I read they're going to be releasing the rest of the story in episode form so we won't have to wait as long to find out what happens. I can't wait.

My only complaint with Dreamfall is that it feels more like an interactive movie than a game. For example, I enter a new area then a cut scene happen. I then proceed to walk a few steps and another long cut scene happens. Also, the switching of the characters between scenes can be disorienting. I sometime wonder, if it would have been better as a movie or animation than a game. I also heard about the episodic format for the contination of the series. It's a great idea I just wish they do it already! Dreamfall is lacking in gameplay so I don't mind it between just a story - whether in a graphical novel or otherwise. Dreamfall looks great BTW, and it feels so familiar yet wonderous to see some of the areas convert from 2D to 3D.

I've just completed the game, and I'd like to give my mini review. My Verdict - Amazing. Spoiler ahead: Let's start the bad. Dreamfall as a game did not work quite as well as 'The longest journey'. Although I didnt think it was too much of a hindrance, there were some battle scenes that werent necessary, nor some of the sneaking. There was also a lacking in adventure puzzles - definitely not on par with it's prequel. The art direction is amazing, and it's great to see 2D landscape recreated into it's 3D counterpart. It gives a sense of familiarity as well as wonder. Saying that, there were some parts of the animation which was stiff, and doll-like. In some way, they would have been better off with create CGI pre-rendered scenes like Final Fantasy. The best part - the story and the music. I have to congratulate them on these two things. It made the game into a cinematic experience. The music is incredible and much much improved over 'The longest journey'. In fact, some parts of the music start up exactly where they would be in a series or a film. The story is fantastic. My favourite. It's darker and tinge with a sadness unlike other game stories. I can see why they chose a completely new character for this game - it had to end the way it did. Unlike April where her story encompasses many many other stories - this is Zoe's own story. It's apt and appropriate. Good old April Ryan. I keep forgetting she'd be in her thirties. So much has changed. Whatever happened to that young punky 20 year old art student. I've read some reviews which says that it ends with loose threads - but I don't believe it is completely true. This is an important episode in a season arc, detailing the journey of someone important. All the plot and threads that needs answering has been answered. So the bad guy hadnt been dealt with yet - but that isn't the point, this is about discovery and the journey. For the ending, we just have to wait for the season finale. Conclusion: I believe they could have done much better by creating this as an movie or an animation. The game does provide many memorable moments with its fantastic storyline and musical scores. I love it.
