Cordy haiku Appropo of nothing, I'm so glad the other night worked out as well as it seems to have. I've sent out some stuff, never heard back, but I've gotta revise my query letter. I tracked down a few agents who are accepting applications. It's just -- it's the most harrowing experience, writing the letter. The letter has got to make them interested in reading the whole thing, and I don't know if I can write a sufficiently compelling letter -- figuring if I write it and it doesn't work, there went my shot. In my mind, the query letter seems like it has to be some towering piece of literature. And then, of course, it only has to be a letter. And obviously other people manage -- look at the sheer number of books there are. I'm sure the wording will come to me. Thanks for the compliment btw, b'guy. To CORDYYour teeth are sooooo big And indeed, you are pleasant All the better to ...(Ran out of haiku syllables. Darn)

This isn't in reference to anything -- or certainly any one -- in particular, b'guy. It's a sort of ... generalized toast, you understand: We now raise a glass To girls of relaxed morals And blurry vision Perhaps "morals" should be "standards," but it works either way. ;D

Hah! My favorite toast, an old cavalry one I heard in the service:
To your wives and girlfriends (pause) May they never meet!
And not a toast, but more military wisdom: The definition of the perfect woman: a rich nymphomaniac whose father owns a chain of liquor stores.
I'm thinking of starting a 'bathroom wall wisdom' thread, I saw some funny stuff last night.
;D

Quoting Mr. Rumboldt: "I close my ears to suggestions in the washroom."

A bathroom wall wisdom thread sounds like fun, though it would be awfully fratboy of us.

A bathroom wall wisdom thread sounds like fun, though it would be awfully fratboy of us. Oh my, we can't have THAT. skribler might show up and scold us (i should really quit that, i like alot of what she posts). On the other hand, it would give Dr. Pants plenty of material for seeing what kind of sociopathic personalities inhabit the place...

So do I, but it's so much fun to tease her about the whole fratboy thing. Especially for me because of the whole me being a girl thing

Tjaman, this thread is called critiques, so I thought I'd better finally tell you, that I think you are a brilliant writer.
I've thought it for ages, so it's about time I said something. You are seriously good, and funny, have great ideas, and your prose (and dialogue) is totally engaging. - And even in your shortest moments of posting it is revealed.
Anyway, enough compliments.

Holy ...Wow. Thanks, TS. I'm blushin' right to the middle of me. Other people should post stuff. I can't wait to read Py's play, for example.

No need to justify tj. I would have gone for it myself, but it's more fun to quip with someone else rather than to quip yourself. lol Although technology has made lone-quippage much easier if ya know what I mean? LOL See? you're not the only one to take it to a place...and I can't even fall back on the 'verse excuse heh
