Um, did absolutely no one get VIMB-A2? I sent it out to everyone last week. At least ... I thought I did ...
I'll check my outbox when I get home, but I honestly do remember sending it out.
If no one got it I'll try sending it again and see if it makes it, and that'll be my submission for next week, I guess.

Got it, read it, enjoyed it- just haven't had a spare second to give you some decent feedback yet
I'm really enjoying where it's going though.
I need to respond to Teal's Pong piece as well...

I haven't been able to comment on "Pong" because I haven't yet received it in a form I can read.
Gotta be in the body of an e-mail -- my WP is a toaster in a world of trans-ams.

I got everyone's stuff so far, just haven't had the time to read anything except for Tealbox's wonderful Haiku's.
I promise to read everything as soon as the semester is over and give appropriate feedback.
I'm really looking forward to reading everything. ;D

[glow=orange,2,300]Sorry, TJ, but I did get VIMP Act 2, rest assured.
Just, I've not had time to read it yet. I was busy on Wednesday, Thursday was Thanksgiving, and I was at the hospital seeing if my gran had a stroke or not earlier that morning, and then Friday I was back at the hospital, this time to be with my brother, who, on Thanksgiving, had to be rushed to the ER and go under immediate surgery--complicated story...and Saturday-Sunday just visiting both at the hospital while also arguing with two out of state relatives and my biological birth father, who all three really got on my bad side for the final time. And Monday, I was working on writing my Season 1 DVD review of Buffy for my website....
So, I'll get around to reading it soon. Maybe right now...[/glow]

Very cool, everyone. I just don't have the world's most reliable server here (our e-mail goes out by stagecoach some days, I think), so I just wanted to make sure it was out there.
The next installment tonight.

[glow=orange,2,300]I read it and simply loved it! I'm interested in seeing how Carla,(it's Carla, right?), will pull off doing both plays. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I completely let the part slip from the first part that both teams were going to do the same play,(that is what they're doing, right?), so I'm interested in seeing if both find out...or not. ..anyway, I loved reading it.
Shutting up now... ;D[/glow]

Yep -- they're both doing the same play -- except already in Act II you can see where Alan's already started rewriting Cameron's work. That leads us to his massive rewrite of Act 2 Scene 2, which we see performed in Act 3 of VIMB -- coming tonight.

I actually wrote a 6 page short story earlier this week. However I wrote it by hand, I'll try and submit it eventually but first I'll have to type it out. If for some reason you're actually expecting me to finish To Play Pong (or even Meril for that matter) at some point soon you should probably come to the conclusion you're very mistaken soon. I'll finish them some day, just not until you've completely forgotten about them most likely.

Feh. Busy day. I apologize for being so behind on responding to pieces. Trying desperately to catch up. OK- VIMB act 2- I really love the tone of the whole thing. I'm a big fan of high farce and you've nailed the tone of it perfectly. I also really enjoy the sense of barely controlled chaos that you've got going on. My only real suggestion for Act 2 is that I think you're undercutting what could be a wonderful set of misunderstandings and deceptions by having the TP actually heard that the TTT are planning on doing ViMB. Even though the mother has got Cameron convinced otherwise, I think it wouldbe so much more delicious if even the suspicion that they were doing the play was removed. Have Cameron convinced from the get-go that they're doing Faust, and similarly you might want to have the TTT convinced that the TP are doing... I don't know... Tony and Tina's wedding or something (That WOULD explain the drag...) With those misconceptions cemented it makes it that much funnier that the two troupes don't get that they are both doing the same play, despite having the evidence of the posters firmly stuck in their faces. (and the fact that they are both correcting them with markers - LOVELY!) ANd having Carla as different parts in both productions is really a masterstroke- INFINITE comedy potential there. Are they really going to be performing in two different spaces? Obviously that's what they're planning on at this point- But I just have this image of them both trying to perform in the same space on the same stage simultaneously. The image pleases me All in all I love where it's going. Now to Act III...

Thanks for the comments, Py. I had fun writing this, although it took some small amount of effort trying to figure out lines that could be serious on one side and hilarious on the other and still tell a story (although with one character running in trouserless a lot of things become instantly quite a bit funnier)
The one problem with it being a complete surprise is that Carla is in both groups, Carla did immediately chirp forth about the TTT's activity (which she of course would) so there had to be some very good reason why Cameron didn't leap into "involvement" mode over on the TTT side -- especially since his mom is directing.
The need for secrecy on the TTT side is set: They want Cameron to be surprised. There is no need for secrecy on the TP side because the TTT have dismissed them out of hand.
I think I kept everyone honest, while at the same time I was determined that this ACT III was going to happen. ;D
P.S. -- Reason for both groups not to be performing it in exactly the same space is there is no way they would be unaware of each other for as long as they, indeed, need to be.
But with a flimsy dividing wall between two performance spaces ...
All things are possible.
P.P.S. -- In Act III, watch for Diane's entrance on the wrong side -- it's easy to miss, but it's a scream.
