Good, kind, laudable INL, but no.
In theory, my sister is doing all of my "Who" ganking for me, and I should be able to see the next installment next time she's in town.
Whenever that is.

While very much doubting that, Py ...
I love the new WHO!
Firstly, THANK YOU to ITL who undeniably is a god among men.
I'd of course seen the first three episodes a month or so ago when my sister was in town. So I watched "Aliens in London," which was beautiful, altho this planet's a bit off the beaten for scrap sales and besides, there's far less having to dress up as portly, farty authority figures on Mars (y'know, just one ferrous rock northward) but, y'know, not unfun. And so cool to see a "Dalek" again -- especially the mystically levitating Dalek upgrade (I loved how they planned to outwit it by running up the stairs. That's an excellent nod to an old joke). Tho that is a terrible place to keep an octopus. And what can I say about "The Long Game" except blorry brilliant. Even working in media, it's nice to invite people to get a bit meta about their mode of information consumption. Not that it does them any good, it's just fun to make them consider stuff sometimes.
And then we got to Father's Day.
I could watch about half of that fascinating philosophical construct before it pixellated so badly my machine spit it out.
Hmm, I said. No matter. Still five more to go. I popped the second disc in and ...
Five more doubtless beautiful and yet pixellated and unavailable copies.
So for all practical purposes, I was unable to view the last six episodes of the new Who (tho I could kind of tell I would've liked them)
And what's even sadder about the whole thing is that the first three eps I did watch were rich and vibrant. And I loved the menu screen. That was pretty and pleasant.
And indeed, for providing what copies he did, ITL is undeniably a god among men.
U.S. viewable versions of the last six eps would have him ascended up on high.
Still tho, all that effort and doing, muchly appreciated. Many thanks and thusforth, in that you rawk!
I'll just try to catch the last six when my sister stops up again. ;D
P.S. -- "Bad Wolf" is probably a German spa of some sort.

TJ:Now that is weird. I don't understand why those discs are messed up - I checked them myself after I burned them, and they worked fine for me - as do the ones I sent to Py. Dammit. I still have the files on my hard drive, so I could always do them again.

Oh, no, ITL -- I'm completely bowled over by what I did get.
Py's copy worked and mine didn't? That's a drag.
It's probably my machine. The eps it did play played beautifully and then my DVD player made a sound like a TARDIS at the end of each for fully a minute trying to find the main menu again -- whirr, whirr, whirrrr. That didn't half get tedious, but I learned to turn the machine off and on again pop the disc out and back in again and then reset it so it would start from the very beginning, open to the menu and click down to the next one.
My machine has had problems with perfectly good DVDs in the past. It's tempermental, which is odd, given how new it is, and how well it manages other DVDs of indistinguishable quality.
It's probably just some coding thing that isn't working right, but no matter. My sister is in town next week, and doubtless she has all of the eppies as well. I'll remind her to bring them and she'll forget so I'll just watch them later this summer.
