[glow=red,2,300]This novel sounds so interesting! It's a story concearning two Buffyverse characters...Buffy and Giles. Buffy is put into the mental hospital by her parents because she wrote in her diary that she's a slayer. Giles in England is preparing for a Watcher test to prove he's capable. He must battle an even Watcher who tries to destroy the Council. The best thing about this is, this takes place before Buffy and Giles heads to Sunnydale, meaning this book gives you a glimpse of those two characters before the arrived to the Hellmouth. Also, its a nice prequel to the Buffy S6 episode,"Normal Again".[/glow]

I will agree with your recommendation, but I'll go a bit further. Slayer, Interrupted is part of a series of graphic novels that tells the story of Buffy from the original film through to Buffy's arrival in Sunnydale. They are of varying degrees of quality, but overall the story is very interesting. The one caveat is the fact that the comic artists do not always faithfully portray things precisely as the show did. Vampires in particular are rather variable in appearance depending on the artist. Start with: The Origin - A retelling of the story of the original film with some changes to bring it more in line with Joss' original idea/script and with the series. Then read: Viva Las Buffy - Which tells the story of the aftermath of events in the film and answers some questions about what ever happened to Pike. Also, an interesting subplot about Buffy's then stalker who we all grew to love so much. Next: Slayer, Interrupted - which Bango described above. And finally: A Stake to the Heart - The story of the collapse of Buffy's family and the effect is has on Buffy and Dawn. Tearjerker time, and very well handled. Of course, you will enjoy these more if you are already familiar with the comic/graphic novel format, but they are worth reading for any Buffy fan. Just be aware that you are paying for artwork as well as story. Many folks who buy their first graphic novel are surprised by how quickly they read it and annoyed that they spent $12-15 for what is often less than an hour of reading. My overall rating: **** out of 5

I have "The Origin" and it's a good read. I haven't read any of the others you mentioned, though I do own a few Buffy graphic novels.
I also own:
"Creatures of Habit" "Spike and Dru" (James Marsters wrote one of the stories. ;D) "Food Chain" "Haunted" and "Ring Of Fire"
I also have the "Chaos Bleeds" comic. I got it free from the Buffy fan club.
In other graphic novels of a non-Buffy nature I have "The Vampire Lestat" and "Tales Of The Body Thief" adaptions of Anne Rices novels.
I also have the graphic novel for "The Crow" based on the comic that sparked the first movie.
My sister always gets me the coolest gifts. ;D
