Yea we had a case of blackberry winter for 2 mornings. This usually happens in April for some reason. But now it should be back in the 70/80's for now. Hot and toasty just the way I like it.

Well it seems ITL is the only person on when I manage to drag arse in here...But, I will talk as though you are all here anyway. So, I hope all is right in everyone's world.
Things are okay with me...will be even better next week when I get the final word on whether I have a job or not. Job hunting is the pits.
I have missed talking with you guys....but alas, I've been kept busy with life stuff. Plus I've hit an all time level of nerdiness since my roomies have been letting me play on their EverQuest II accounts. (It's an online RPG)
But, I want to stay in touch as much as possible. But to be honest, I've been purposely trying to keep busy with anything I can while waiting to get a job. Haunting my apartment can be very depressing and lonely. And while I usually like being alone, I'm trying not to get too depressed and do a bunch of thinking.
I did find out definitively what happened to my twin brother....(sorry don't wanna bring anyone down) But, on the bright, and less ironic for me side, it wasn't the medication for his bipolar disorder, or the sleep apnia (sp)... He had a brain aneurism (sp). The bad part is that now there's a genetic connection as well as environmental factors. Needless to say, I will be getting checked for weak or ballooned vessels myself. The good thing is that it was probably painless for him...specially since he died in his sleep.
But now, I am a bit worried about my own health, since it is more likely I am predisposed to it now. Not too mention I smoke. The thing is, do I really want to know? I mean heck, they can only do so much depending on where the ballooned or blocked blood vessel is. And, they didn't even find his, when they went looking for it. Of course they didn't do tests specifically designed for detection of that sort either.
Okay, enough depressing talk. I want to know how things are in every1 elses world.
I've been doing lots of Karaoke lately....trying to keep my voice in shape, and it's fun. Any good gossip? Step up to the water cooler pplz and tell me what ya know lol.

Nice to see your voice, Feigy!
Bittersweet news about your brother - it must be so difficult for you right now.

Yes. You want to know. There's medication, blood thinners, other therapies and treatments.
Glad you're getting out and doing some singing as well as your online adventures as Mistress Spanks-a-lot or whoever you are in your RPG.
* sip * Things are good. Last night I didn't have any nicotine gum at home and I was fine. I think I may be on the quit side of quit. If things remain stable here -- and I recognize what happens when you say stuff like that out loud -- but if things remain stable here I may be able to call this quit a success in another week or so.
The piece of nicotine gum I had when I got to work this a.m. was just a little too relaxing for my comfort -- I don't want to be relying on it that much.
Hope you're doing ok and be in touch. Lots of do happening at the 'Tome if you stop in.
Good to see your voice, Feigy.

Hello Feigy. Glad to hear from you again.
I'm sure you'll find a good job with the job hunt.
Trying to quit smoking can be hard for many but I know it can be done. If my grandmother, who smoked over 40+ years, can stop cold turkey one day, it is possible for anyone.
Come on over to the Tome. You might notice some major changes and also some name changes from many of the forum regulars.
I am doing better than I was. I have been concerned with my friends lately and trying to help them out. It makes me 20X nervous and panicy but it is all worth it.

Hello Feigy. It's so good to see your voice again.
I hope things work out with you on the health issue. I'm like you, I don't know if I'd want to know either. I mean if they can definitely do something about it then I'd want to know, but if not then I might prefer to remain in the dark.
But then you know about the possibility already so that in itself will 'cause you to worry.
Good luck with the job search. Job hunting really sucks. I'm not looking forward to doing that after I graduate. I want out of McDonalds, but I hate interviewing and then there's the whole training process once you've found the job. I don't like being the new person who doesn't know what to do either.
There's a certain level of comfort at my current job. I'm really good at it - even on a bad day I'm still better than most of the people I work with.
So, you want to hear something funny that happened to me at work today?
I was in drive-thru and this guy ordered two burritos. I told him his total, which was $2.46. He told me that the total was wrong because the burritos were a dollar something.
I told him, yeah they are and you wanted two right?
So he backs up his car to look at the menu again, even though there's one hanging right by the window.
He comes back and says they're $1.15. I said yes they are and $1.15 + $1.15 = $2.30 plus the .16 tax gives you $2.46.
He told me I was wrong. So I repeated what I said and he got pissed off and left.
I was really trying not to be rude but damn it was hard.
So I used the intercom to let the people up front know to ignore that order and I said "the guy doesn't know how to add"
So one of the managers came back and asked me "Did you really say the customer doesn't know how to add?" She said everyone in lobby could hear it.
I told her I was sorry, and then told her what happened. She laughed about it.
Later she said everyone was up front just ho-humming through the day and when I said that it made them laugh. They couldn't believe I said that because I'm usually so even tempered.
Well, you try to be even tempered when your son catches you house on fire, and leaves you without transportation to school just a couple of weeks shy of graduation. *story's on the Tome*
That's probably why I got away with it without getting in trouble though.
But man was that guy a numpty. I wonder if he realized after he left that I was right and he was being an @ss for nothing?

There should be an official @sshat you can present to people who earn it that much.
I'm having no trouble toting up those figures in my head. I wonder if he wouldn't mind joining us over here in base-10.
Can't believe you went off on him, tho, but I'm not getting at you, dear. It doesn't matter what you say. You could be a dribbling teenager with all the mad math skillz our president displays in talking about our budget. The machine says $2.46 and that's what he's gotta turn over for you to hand off a pair of burritos.
So there.
;D

;D I didn't actually go off on him, I just pointed out the fact that $1.15 + $1.15 = $2.30 plus tax makes it $2.46 as nicely as I possibly could.
And I kept asked him if he said "two burritos" to make sure I didn't misunderstand him.
He's the one that got all pissy. It was just when I was letting the people up front know to ignore the order that I said "the guy doesn't know how to add"
He was already gone then so he doesn't know I said it. Everyone at work thought it was funny, they were just surprised that I said that over the speaker. Especially since they never see me get mad.
I do have a pretty bad temper though, I just don't get mad that easily. But when I do you'd better watch out. I'll go medieval on your @ss!
Okay, not so much with the medieval - I just love that line. ;D
I am part Irish so I guess that's where the temper comes from. If you want to be stereotypical anyway.

Thanks for the hugz & support guys
And tj, don't worry, I will be telling my doctors the situation....I'll let them do scans even....but I'm going to tell them that if there's nothing, they themselves can do about it, to keep it to themselves. I can always start an asprin regimine and continue efforts to quit smoking. That's pretty much all they would tell me to do unless they can operate with success...which I don't think does any good, possibly more harm in some cases.
So, I will try to do my own prevention, but unless they can fix it, I don't want to know....Oh hell, maybe I do, I dunno...makes my brain hurt thinking about it. lol
I can say this however, it's entirely possible my brother was not treated because he was reporting symptoms to various types of doctors and of course no one is meeting up with other docs about stuff now are they? So, it's really important to let all your docs know about what is going on with you. Who cares if you sound like a friggin hypocondriac. All I know, is I can't look at my migrane headaches the same way anymore. And those weren't particularly fun to begin with.
Cordy, I'm sorry to hear about the fire. Sounds like your son deserved a good grounding, and maybe a smack on the butt for playing with fire. Kids can be precotious can't they?
Well, I can relate about the no transportation thing as well. I don't have a car at the moment either. So job hunting has been the pits. But, I'll know for sure by next thursday whether or not I have a job. I'm fairly confident I'll get the job though. Unless they just retarded hehe.
Good luck to you on the quitting smoking tj. I guess now I have even more insentive to stop smoking too. Unfortunately, with my teeth being as bad as they are right now till I can get to a dentist, the nic gum is no good for me. But there are ways hehe
I don't have the energy to go sifting through the tome so thanks for providing the links to the stuff you've brought up. More of that would be helpful if you guys have anything else to share
Well, I guess I'm outty for nowy.
See u guys around and thanks for talking to me
