Is this Clerks a sci fi drama or more of a OC type? I haven't seen it or even heard of it till now so I am limited on it.

Clerks is a movie that is about 2 people who are Clerks at a convience store and a video store in New Jersey, and the movie is done by Kevin Smith, who has done Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. These two clerks talk about everything.

Talking is always good for us especially if it is gossip at a convenience store.

There's mucho profanity and sexual humor in Clerks (and all Kevin Smith movies), but this is part of what makes them so funny. Smith writes the wittiest batter around, IMO!
It doesn't seem like 11 years since Clerks came out...seems like yesterday!

Clerks is a movie about a guy who works in a convenient store. It's a bit more than that...but it's the basic premise...and it's got Jay and silent Bob in it, if you know who those guys are.
Let's just say the convenient store guy has a really messed up weekend throughout this movie hehe.

jay and silent bob (well, jay anyway) are pretty raucous guys but in such an innocent way that you aren't sure whether they're the wisest or the dumbest guys in the universe.
sort of a sweet natured beavis and butthead or a potty mouthed version of Darryl and my other brother Darryl on the old Bob Newhart show.
i love em because they have the kinds of conversations me and my friends get into.
(I would sooo mother those boys if they came into my gamestore.)

I just woke up.
I got back from rehearsal this a.m. with an upset stomach and a bad headache -- odd, since the rehearsal itself went really well. We barely asked for any lines, and we were only cast in these roles like two weeks ago. Instead, we focused really hard on our characters, and our director said we're probably going to be up to performance standard a month out from production.
Needless to say, that's an exciting assessment of one's performance, although I wish I hadn't felt miserable afterwards.
A good five hour nap later and I'm feeling a lot better. I'm going to tape "Jawbreaker" on FX since I've never seen it while doing dishes and taking in "Prairie Home Companion." I'll watch it while folding laundry later.
Then N/T and Clerks. SNOOCH!
See you kids later.
Oh, p.s. to Cordy -- With commercial breaks is the easier nattering. ;D

You slept all day? You?
I actually didn't get back up until nearly 5 p.m. myself. I meant to take a small nap but it didn't work out that way. I kept having weird dreams and I ended up not waking up and staying awake until almost 5.
Sometimes I dream so heavily that it's hard to get out of it.
Jawbreaker is/was on? I have that movie on dvd too. It's pretty good. They'll probably cut all the good parts out for television.
Reb, Clerks is not a made-for-television movie. It was Kevin Smith's first movie and he financed it all by himself. He made the movie for very little money and I think it's pretty darn brilliant.
I can so relate to their day being as I work in a fast-food restaurant. "I'm not even supposed to be here today." Totally priceless.
I've been watching the first three eps of Season Seven of Buffy this evening. I just can't get enough of that show.

Cool Cordy, I haven't had a good sit down of Buffy in a while. Though last night, after watching Taxi, I conned my mom into watching an episode of Angel with me. I'm trying to get her hooked. Course, I never got round to finish watching smile time the other day when I mentioned it..so I made her watch that eppy with me.
I suppose I'll try to get her to watch from season 1 at some point.
As for the movies we saw last night....I loved Taxi, even if the cop was annoying at times. And I thought Exorcist: The Beginning was kinda lame. But I may write more on that in the movies I've seen thread.
So, I guess you feel all discombobulated after such a long nap eh?

Yes, I feel a bit discombobulated after the long nap. Not so much now after watching the Buffy eps, but I did when I finally managed to drag myself back out of bed.
Taxi was pretty good. It was pretty funny and Jimmy Fallon is just as cute as he can be. He's always so up and bouncy it's just adorable.
My sister has a little crush on him. Him and all the Beastie Boys. ;D
I seen one of the Exorcist beginning movies but they released another one that has nearly the same plot and I'm not sure which one I saw. In other words I don't know if it's the same one you saw or not.

Well this was called Exorcist the beginning and it pretty much about finding this christian church in Africa where it should not have been since that part of Africa wasn't introduced to Christianity till much later than when the thing was put there. Bla bla bla....turns out it was where the devil landed when he was booted from heaven and so the ground there was evil. And they decided that building a church on the place and then burying the church would seal him in. But obviously they were wrong....
Does that sound like the one you saw?

Both movies had a similar plot from what I had read. The director, or maybe it was the writer, anyway the guy who made the movie made it twice because the studio didn't like the first one. So both movies had a very similar plot, they used most of the same actors, etc. They recently released the first one made on dvd, the one I saw was the one that was released in theaters only I saw it on dvd. Anyway, the one I saw had:
The church thing, but I think they were doing a dig on that site. The called this former priest in to check out the Church they found. Then this one kid saw his brother get killed by hyena's right in front of him and he had to go stay in the med cabin. It looked like he was possessed and the villagers wanted to kill him but they were wrong.
Did that happen in yours?

That's exactly what happened in mine. I wasn't really impressed...especially with their generous use of maggots...ick, even typing that makes me queezy. It's weird, but that's the only thing that makes me gag. You'd think the part where that guy was suspended by ropes would have been bad heh.
Anywho...Scarey movie 2 is on Comedy central atm. Very goofy movies indeed.
So, some good news for me....I'm getting a new computer in about a week. Yay me! I replacing my old desktop computer which I put together myself but has since fallen behind in the upgrade battle. And because I'm poor, I'll be buying one from Dell so I can make payments on it. But, it's so slammin' I shouldn't actually NEED any upgrades for another 5 yrs hehe Which is about when I'll have the dern thing paid off probably.

Maggots don't bug me. Anything with spit, drool, slobber, etc. grosses me out.
I once had a customer with some gross slobbery stuff on his mouth. It was all I could do to take his order without puking. I should have got an Oscar for my acting job of not showing my disgust. After I took his order I had to run to the hallway (where the customers couldn't see me) and try not to throw up. I kept gagging but luckily nothing came up. It was awful.
This would be why I could never work in a nursing home. Old people drool - which is totally not their fault - but it makes me sick. We once had a dog that got sick and started slobbering alot. I couldn't even look at her anymore. She had to be put to sleep which is really sad.
I didn't like Scary Movie 2 as well as the others. I have Scary Movie on dvd, and I believe I have the third one on dvd. I liked it. Two just didn't do it for me.
So, what made you decide to get a new computer and make payments on it? I got a new computer a few months ago. I bought it really cheap from Tiger Direct. I got a computer that would normally cost $3,000 for less than $900 after rebates and such. I upgraded it myself and most of my parts had rebates on them. It's pretty darn cool. I gave my son my old computer and set up a wireless network so he can share my DSL connection.
Technology is so fun. ;D
