Cordy, I'm glad that the JDC decided to lower the charges against Enzo. It refreshing that there actually some people with common sense running the show. I just got to say, keep fighting the good fight, and Enzo will be exonerated.
So how is everyone?

The White Sox are one out away from winning their first World Series since 1917.

It's official, the White Sox are World Series Champs for 2005.
Weird fact. When the Red Sox won the World Series last year it ended an 86 year drought. And this year the White Sox ended an 88 year drought.
Red Sox 1918-2004 White Sox 1917-2005 Cubs 1909-2013?
If it follows the pattern the Cubs should win 2013, cause the Cubs won it last 8 years before the White Sox did in 1917, and the White Sox won it a year before the Red Sox, and the White Sox one year to win after the Red Sox to win.

I'm not sure if that's supposed to be sweet, or funny, or cruel.
Oy, I'm too cynical for my own good.

I think it's supposed to keep the mother (or fill in the blank) guessing. It'd work for parents, siblings, children or anyone stuck with you by birth.

Time for a song.
*All of sudden you see Inara, Kaylee, Zoe, and River appear in the background carrying guitars wearing androgynous make-up*
Hit it Z'Janis.
Your lights are on, but you're not home
Your mind is not your own
Your heart sweats, your body shakes
Another kiss is what it takes
You can't sleep, you can't eat
There's no doubt, you're in deep
Your throat is tight, you can't breathe
Another kiss is all you need
Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to love
You see the signs, but you can't read
You're runnin' at a different speed
Your heart beats in double time
Another kiss and you'll be mine, a one track mind
You can't be saved
Oblivion is all you crave
If there's some left for you
You don't mind if you do
Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
[break]
*Inara, Kaylee, Zoe, and River are swinging about in a very suggestive manner.*
Your lights are on, but you're not home
Your will is not your own
You're heart sweats, your teeth grind
Another kiss and you'll be mine
Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Might as well face it, you're addicted to love
Why wasn't anyone looking at me?

On another note, the Gay Cruise adverts only appear when I'm at work. When ever I'm at home and my parents walk up behind me or sit near me, those ads pop up.I've got some possibly good news. I talked to the lawyer today. He said the JDC are going to reduce the charges to a misdemeanor instead of a felony. They're hoping to strike a plea bargain with some probation but the lawyer says we can win this so he suggests going all the way with it since even if we loose all they'll get is probation.
But if we win it'll be all over for them. ;D
The bad news is the other judge is out of town and won't be back until next Tuesday. The lawyer said he asked to get them the earliest court date possible for a detention hearing so they can get out of there. So it looks like they'll still be at JDC for another week at the very least.
But at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel. ;D
Is it just me or does anyone else have an urge to go into that JDC, beat the sh*t out of (or possibly kill) the guys who run and guard the place and rescue Enzo? Or is that just me?So far the school hasn't recommended that they seek counseling of any sort. Nor do I think they've received any sort of counseling while incarcerated without a trial.
The JDC doesn't believe the boys belong in there which is why they are willing to lower the charges. It was the school - particularly the Assistant Principle - that decided they should be arrested.
They never did evacuate the school though, which shows they never took the threat seriously. They even indicated that they pretty much knew the kids weren't seriously threatening anyone but they were being charged as if they had.
My son told me that the first thing the Assistant Principle said to him when he was called into the office was, "You're in trouble for a Felony." Not, what does "Tomorrow is the day" mean or anything even remotely level headed.
He was slamming his fists down on the desk and yelling at my son, and apparently the other kid too. It seems he is known for this type of behavior and someone who has a habit of overreacting to childish behavior should not be in charge of children.
I'm glad the Juvenile Officers can see that these kids are not a threat, but that doesn't help my son and the other kids at that school when dealing with an Assistant Principle who's prone to overreacting like this.
What they did was stupid, but it was in no way threatening and any reasonable adult would know that after spending even 5 minutes with these boys.
The Assistant Principle pretty much told me that he knew they did not plan on carrying out a bomb threat, he said that they had to be punished because of the zero tolerance policy.
Punished I can see, arrested I can't. What they did was stupid in light of the way the world is today but kids don't look at the world the same way we do. They never meant it to be threatening at all.
It's a question on intent. They never intending to do harm, nor did they intend to imply harm. The grownups were the ones who viewed it as harmful.
This will damage these boys for the rest of their lives. They were imprisoned without a trial, and mostly because they were honest enough to say they made the notes and put the on the floor in the halls.
I always told my son that he would be in less trouble if he told the truth. Well he told the truth and he got arrested.
What do you think that's going to do to him? He's going to have a very hard time trusting authority figures, possibly for the rest of his life.
Does that seem right to you? The @ss Principle sounds a bit like the one at my school. He is suppose to be an acting assisstant principle because the last one went crazy or something along those lines. The new acting @ss principal used to be the IT teacher but ever since his status changed, his personality has changed too. He used to be easy to get along with and you could basically talk to him about everything but now if you try to complain to him about something he turns around and say "Tell the SRC, and they will do bring it up at a meeting." They never do.

wait till they arrest someone for assault over a spitball or name calling. If they did that at my school, there would be no one left. Why wasn't anyone looking at me? Wow, aren't you self-centered.

* deeply gratified by Kev's use of the word "androgynous" and his impeccable spelling of late *
Sorry for the backhanded compliment.
I promise they'll be front-handed in the future. ;D
New Brilliant Insightâ„¢ in the 'Fraud, btw.
As for the advocacy of a violent rescue of Enzo, gotta say that might, in fact, just be you, Phoe.
q, if -- and I do mean if -- Sara would like to meet me in the theater, you'll have to be a little more explicit. There are two community theater productions going on that weekend -- one (ours) which was annouced and placed on every conceivable community calendar (including the State Tourism Calendar) more than a year ago, and the other (theirs) which was hastily cobbled together and flung in the manner of monkey scat over the same weekend about a month ago.
It's ... starting off rather badly for them. Their production is actually called "Dinner Theater," and they'd wanted to provide a catered meal one of the nights at a nearby museum. They recently lost the venue, but more interesting is the fact that they'd planned to offer the production as an in-house dessert theater for the matinee, and they're not even going to be able to manage that.
Our production, by contrast, actually is a dinner theater for two nights of the run, and it's being catered in-house by the people who've been prepping our food for more than a year, and judging from the smell (actors don't get to eat, more's the pity) it's really good food.
So she should plan to attend the production of "Toward Zero" at the Parker and decide from there if I'm worth meeting.
Wonderful evenings, all.
