Not as such, no.
The Red Hatters are just fun, q. They're so active up here and they're always doing stuff.
I enjoyed the spoofery of them on The Simpsons, but for the most part, they seem like a great group of ladies.
And I think the nonegenarians among them are easily some of busiest.

Hey Cordy! How's your day? Did the ritual sacrifice work?

Sorry to keep you guys waiting so long on the news.
It stunk. They found him guilty of making a terrorist threat basically under the "reckless disregard" clause of the new law.
They didn't even have to prove that he meant to make a bomb threat - which they didn't - but just that he acted without regard for how others would take it.
So he's on probation indefinitely.
Supposedly if he's good for the next six months then he'll be off probation.
The probation is better than the house arrest. At least he can now leave the house and most of the rules are the same ones I have for him.
But we have to meet with his Juvenile Officer every two weeks - and that guy gives him homework. Plus he has to go to counseling, which he probably needs after being traumatized by the system.
He can't leave the county without written permission and he has a curfew of 9:00 p.m. - he wasn't allowed out that late anyway.
The problem with the curfew is he has to be with me after 9:00 p.m. so he can't spend the night at his Grandma's house on Saturdays anymore.
Which means I won't be able to work the 3 to Midnight shift until his probation ends so I hope that doesn't get me demoted at work. It was one of the stipulations on my return to management - even though she was pretty much begging me to go back up.
My Dad got pretty upset when he heard the verdict. He wants to appeal but I'm not sure we have a chance. I have to pay $30 per month court costs as it is now and if we loose the appeals that will be even more money I'll have to pay.
I have no idea how much I actually owe in court costs since they didn't give me a figure.
Enzo is supposed to write a statement for the school about what he did wrong and what he's learned from the experience and my Dad told me not to let him write it.
Then the Juvenile Officer gave him the same assignment - he has to turn it in when we go back.
I'm afraid to refuse the statement to the school since the agreement was verbal and they may not let him go back without it. We can't refuse the assignment for the Juvenile Officer because that would violate his probation.
I don't like the idea of him writing anything else that could be used against him. This case is still considered open until his probation is over which means if he does anything wrong - even just getting in trouble at school - then they can make him go back before the judge.
So, now I have the world's worst headache and this nightmare isn't over.
At least we can leave the house now though. The other kid's lawyer wasn't there and he filed for a continuance but didn't bother to tell them about it apparently.
So he has to wait until the new trail date to end his house arrest. I'm so glad we didn't have that happen to us.

Hey Cordy! How's your day? Did the ritual sacrifice work?
Not so much.
Enzo and I spent the last few hours watching disk 5 of Veronica Mars though. If she was a real person and really lived here she could have fixed this for us.
I really enjoyed disk 5. Watching Logan's Dad beat the hell out of his sister's abusive boyfriend was loads of fun. Especially when he looked up and saw Veronica and Logan and said "Hi son, how was school?"
I enjoyed watching Logan and Veronica start kissing though I knew that would be coming sooner or later. I like how he came to her rescue when that one guy took her and then it turned out that he was a federal agent.
The last ep on the disk was where Veronica was supposed to meet Logan on his Dad's yacht but she stood him up after that one guy told her that Logan supplied the GHS. I felt so bad for him sitting there with the nice food, champagne and stuff. She could have at least called and bitched him out if she really thought he was responsible.
If you can't tell Logan pretty much grew on me. He's alot of fun and I hope he really didn't do the roofee thing. It doesn't really make sense with his character though. He seems too honorable sometimes.
I really can't wait until I get the final disk on Wed.

Maybe I should've thrown in the pie with the ritual sacrifice.
I'm really thrown by the unfairness of it all. Basically, they thought they we're right, and they didn't even have to prove it. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Just ... ugh.

Just too gorram much insanity for one week. I hate to use your misfortune, Cordy, but you should consider getting some media attention. Send in a letter to the local paper, to the not-so-local paper, to the TV news. People need to see that these insane/inane laws have real effects on real people, and how ridiculous those effects can be.
Good Lord, when I was a kid I did stupid stuff like that on an almost weekly basis. Granted, never had enough of a lapse of judgement to do it in the garage, but we blew skite up all the time. We got caught with bottle rockets in the woods once, and the cop just gave us a little lecture and let us go.
Whatever happened to "boys will be boys?"
Y'know, you may want to look around and see if there is a lawyer who is interested enough in taking on these anti-terror laws that they'd take the case pro bono.
Oh, I dunno. I'm just disgusted and depressed and wishing that there were something I could do. I totally get Angel right now. Damn, I'd love to slay a dragon or two.

Thanks for the sentiment grail. This wasn't related to the garage incident though.
You've been gone so often and I've only talked about this here so as not to ruin my son's case but it relates to a bomb threat at school.
See my son and his friends got together and wrote "Tomorrow Is The Day" on pieces on notebook paper and dropped them around the school.
The school took it to mean a bomb threat and had them arrested. They spent time in the Juvenile Detention Center and were finally released on house arrest.
My Dad plans on involving the media eventually but he apparently has a plan of attack so I'm waiting for him to make his move. It's not time yet - which is why I haven't mentioned this whole thing on the more public forums.
Something really needs to be done though. This is crazy.

That sucks that Enzo got probation. That law is very Unconstitutional, and must be changed. Enzo knows what he did, and he has been punished enough. I agree with grail that you need to get the media involved, because the media can help in cases like this.
I wish I had more to say but I can't say anything useful and productive.
I'm outraged.

That law really does suck and I can't believe they managed to get it on the books. Something needs to be done about that.
I just hope my Dad really has a good plan for all of this. He won't go into the strategy with me so I'm not sure what he's going to do exactly.
My Mom told me that several states have passed a law making it legal for companies to fire smokers if they don't quit smoking.
How crazy is that? I don't smoke but I'm not liking the idea of that law at all. It may be something the smokers here might want to look into.

You think thats bad, over here John Howard wants to make this new work place change. I don't know that much about it but it will apparently f*ck up Australia. Its something like, if you're not good enough for a job they can fire you on the spot or something really screwed up like that. He says is suppose to better Australia or some crap like that and that we are behind in the world and this is the chance to be a head of everyone else.

I really believe that the PTB, both Democrats and Republicans, in government are trying to make a world without sin. We really need to be vigilent about preventing our goverments from doing that. They are trying to eliminate any diversity in the countrym and no individuality.
The PTB's really need to see Serenity to see what happens if they try to get a world without sin.

I just heard about a company here doing it supposedly to keep their health insurance costs down.
I don't smoke either, but I think they are skating on some seriously thin legal ice. What else could they prohibit you from doing on your own time?
Sorry to hear about your continuing legal woes, Cordy. That law sounds awfully broad to be entirely legal.
I'm jumping around subjects a wee bit, but your Amends banner is mighty shiny. I spent way too long coming up with a Christmas themed one for the Fraud.
