When I first heard that bit, I thought I may have had too many of Auntie's Brownies.
You won't be broody after tonight's episodes in the Thon, some are dark, and others are downright fun.

QUESTION #2:
Spike in the last epi of the 'Thon "Lover's Walk", he was all heartbroken over Dru. I didn't get that, his feelings. Heartbroken. He doesn't have heart.
It was like he had a "sole" in those lines. I felt it contradictory to being a vampire.
Comments welcome ...
.
... and he was amazingly funny. Very good Spike lines to be had in that epi! Loved it.

Spike has be one of the most "human" of all vamps. He was a poet in his human life, and was very emotional as human. Like when the Judge was first formed in "Surprise", he said that Spike and Dru reeked of "humanity", so it wasn't inconcievable for Vamps to feel love. This becomes more evident in seasons five and six of Buffy. I think tj could explain it better.

Spike and Dru confirmed in the Buffy birthday eppie that vampires can feel love -- the Judge wanted to burn them for it.
Although it would be the weird, twisted love of demons in human form.
You get the sense that some vampires sire others specifically to have companions.
That's my take on it, anyway.

"Firefly" was down to the floor some of the best writing in the 'verse...
Agreed on everything you said here.
I am looking forward to starting Angel series. That will be coming up in a few weeks for 'Thon.
Joss already had the characters in place and pallet for the decor .. so he didn't have to focus on building that up when Angel hit. He had more time to focus on plot line, rather character development.
So I am interesting to see how he used his time with us in those first few episodes.

Do we ever get the back story of Darla's sire?

I agree, and that's probably why Spike was sired, I think Dru felt like a third wheel, so she needed a companion.

Yes, in season 2 of Angel.

"Objects in Space" is an amazing episode. Early was a great bad guy. And River was just incredible.
We all knew there was something more to her, something weird and mystical beyond the crazy.
She couldn't become the ship.
But it was as big a surprise for us as it was for Early to discover that.
Part of my enduring love, both for River and for "Firefly." ;D
P.S. -- Kev, you are so going to enjoy S1. There were one or two hiccups storywise, but for the most part, good, good fun. ;D

Instead of smiting Fox for cancelling Firefly, lets exalt Universal for helping to produce Serenity.
