Instead of smiting Fox for cancelling Firefly, lets exalt Universal for helping to produce Serenity.
I haven't seen Serenity yet. But thats a good positive outlook.
So I'll consider that when I'm done wearing broody for awhile.
[whine-BiOtch] I just want more Firefly seasons [/whine-BiOtch]

Well, it looks like I will be spending one more week thoning it from the land of Dial-up because my dad is refusing to set up the Wireless network until tomorrow because he is paranoid about identity thieves. He said he was going to do it today, and he has time, but now he is doing it tomorrow.

They'll have captured all the identity thieves by tomorrow?
Well ... yay, then.

Well, tomorrow he will put it together and put the right security features on it to protect against thievery.
I won 51.60 today betting on the Kentucky Derby, while betting 20 dollars.

I am so happy to hear how much you loved Firefly Dez.
I was the one that introduced it to tj so it's so cool to see the love being spread first hand. ;D
I enjoyed the first season of Buffy, Angel, and Firefly but I do agree that Firefly really stands out as the best first season.
I didn't start watching Buffy until the ep, Angel. Then I only discovered it because I was channel surfing. I was convinced that it would be an awful show since most shows based on movies aren't really that good.
Boy was I ever wrong. The show didn't really hook me until season two though.
Angel season one was okay. I only watched it because it was a spin-off of Buffy. I wasn't sure it would be any good.
It was good compared to other stuff on television but it didn't grab me like Buffy did.
I almost stopped watching it in Season Three. I was getting kinda like "meh."
Then season four happened. That season - which is hated by the majority of the posters here - really had me on the edge of my seat. That season made me love Angel.
Season five made that love stronger.
Can you imagine how much better Firefly would have gotten by season four or five?
Brooding now.

Can someone please guide me on what I should be posting for transcript wise in the 'Thon thread.
Do I edit last night, or post as is.
Also, both Kev & I were privately PMing TJ that we were sorry and trying to lighten things up. That is not shown in the main conversation, and all of you might not have been aware of us doing that during the build up at break.
But we were trying to settle things down. So, I really dont know what to post this morning. And Im not going to post anything until everyone can get together and discuss what happened. So we can move on in it and feel better about it.
You have the floor ...
.

My take on it is that we post it as is. It may be the journalist in me, but my sense is that it's a very real conversation, we've posted all the rest of our BRIAN moments, and if I, for example, come off as a real jerk or worse that's ... part of the 'Thon.
I don't think it's happened here, but one of the reasons we never see skrib anymore is because of what she calls our "fratboy antics." I don't believe we're fratboys, but I don't have her perspective on things.
And I guess I've already talked about how much I luuuurve being called the Bored Diva. There's clearly some truth in the name, but it did take us 5-1/2 hours to watch 3-1/2 hours of television. I'm not suggesting for a moment that it should take exactly 3 hours and 50 minutes and we all stop talking, but maybe we could rein in the ... lengthier gaps? Because some things legitimately fall apart -- like someone's machine doesn't work or spits the disc out or so forth and we all stop and start again or cue up to the same place or something and that's going to take some time.
The crying of wolf -- hilarious as it can be (and believe me, I was laughing -- hard) -- can be disruptive. We're watching these shows because they are excellent shows -- really some of the best stuff ever aired -- and when we break in the middle of them it hurts the storytelling, the impact the artist was going for.
Believe me, I know it's going to happen some night that everything is just going to start going wrong here. Probably the first weekend after I get my media center set up the way it's supposed to be, there's going to be communication glitches between me, my computer (where the disc will be playing), the television and Yahoo! and I'll need your indulgence while I get stuff back on track.
No one is immune to equipment failure. It happens.
And jokes happen. We're a funny bunch.
And I overreacted. And I apologize.
Could we just ... I'm not trying to be some sort of bored diva if I ask if we're ready to watch the next eppy, and I feel hurt a little when that's implied. It's a party. It should be fun. Everyone should have all the time they need between eppies.
But then at some point we should some together and hit play and watch them.
This is a good idea. This is an excellent excuse to come together and watch some astonishing television. Shows we might not throw in on our own. A chance to enjoy them with friends.
So my vote is yes. Run the entire conversation. If I come off as a bad guy, so be it. Reb was a voice of reason last night.
P.S. -- The spirit of love and friendship that exists between posters in this space that dez called BEATLES actually has a name: BERNICE.
It can have two names. Be it BERNICE or BEATLES, we'll all know what we're talking about.

* * * BAM KARMA * * *
To ITL WELCOME HOME!
.
BERNICE is love. What Im talking about is when someone tries to say they are sorry out of feeling guilty or an act they caused or were caught up in ... someone should step up and relieve that feeling by stating .. you never have to be sorry here.
That is entirely not the same as BERNICE.
And in reading your comments TJ you are clearly still upset. So I dont know what more to say that I haven't in 'Fraud this morning.
To me honestly, who cares if it took 2 hours or 5. We were together. Anyone can leave if they want to. It doesnt happen often. -- WAIT no, its NEVER happened to that length before.
And really I do not see the "Thon where TJ was gone we were a "train wreck" we had about a 5 minute giggle over who should count down. And we got threw it.
I am becoming indifferent about this. That seems to be the only way to move on. There will come a time when nobody will know what we can and cant do, say or cant say.
