I think such an important viddie would be possible using clips from "Bad Wolf"/"Parting of the Ways," but I need to think about it some more.
* now imagining clips from "School Reunion" over "We Don't Need No Education," and smiling *

Moderate me as needed, ITL, but ...
godsf**k
That was deeply, deeply moving. I'm ... completely unbalanced by that.
I need to go away for awhile and cry.

So you liked it then?

"liked" doesn't begin to cover what I feel about that piece of fillum.
First and foremost, I liked the new Doctor but I loved Rose. I loved her energy, the force of her, her not-back-downedness. She was also wildly funny. Purposefully vague, here, but I loved how she yelled at that guy for doing that thing upsidedown in "Idiot" (stupid Yank, here, but that can't even be possible, can it?) And that scene in "Love & Monsters" was incredibly fun. So she didn't always sink her hand into my flesh and wrap it around my heart and squeeeeeeeze it, but when she did, she really did.
I can't even compare her to Buffy. They're like different creatures.
And then you take this song. And I don't know where you find really excellent songs like you do but you really did. It had a heartbeat running all the way through it and I'm sorry, just me being stupid again, but that's exactly the kind of voice I like. I couldn't listen to Bjork doing it all day because she's very silly, but it's singular, and occasionally I'll hear someone who sings like that and it's so beautiful and ethereal and magic and I think "G-d, I hope that's a woman." But it's true, and it usually is and I just ... it makes me need to hug someone or something and there's never anyone around to hug so I feel lonely and at absolute and perfect peace at exactly the same time because there are voices like that in the world.
And the exact moments you chose to include.
The scenes you selected were emotionally powerful and they were ... they became better because of the music you were using and how you arranged them. And I couldn't cry because I'm at work but nearly did and I did have a panic attack and I watched it twice and even though I could technically have gone home half an hour ago I needed to tell you why "liked it" isn't even language at this point for me.
And now I get to go home and watch it on a real computer.
Powerful. Powerful video, ITL.
Well. Freeqin'. Done.

I think that qualifies as a "yes, I liked it!" Thanks muchly, TJ - the song is Teardrop by Massive Attack - they had a guest singer for this song, one Elizabeth Frazier who was the singer in The Cocteau Twins for many years. And yes, she's always been that good. The viddy was a bitca to edit....lol - arranging scenes in reverse order and making them sync in time to the music......I think I melted my brain doing this....lol

Cool Dave, how long did that take you to make? Especially the ending, were all those snippet movie flashes done by you? I've only seen a few of the new Who, but it's a pretty good viddie even not knowing the storyline.

Central NEW VIDDY ANNOUNCEMENT blogpost established.
It won't let you clicky-link from a blog response, but it will give posters a central location to announce their efforts so we don't have to go searching through Caritas the whole time.
As of right now, it just links to my, Auntie and ITL's main YouTube pages so people can see everything that's been done so far.
But new entries can include the direct viddielinks.

Thanks, Dezzie! The still-images-going-very -fast thing was quite easy, actually - although it took a while to save all of the screengrabs from the websites! lol I have software that converts a series of images into a video file, so it's not too hard. However - every single image IS in order - running backwards from S2EP11 down to S1EP2. And coolness, TJ!

I sorta skimmed your blog and noticed you talk about what each person did for viddie, but dont give the link each time you say how great one was. (?) Put them in the main body of your blog. Also, blogs dont post if you edited them, so you can edit them without edit tags. . Dave yours was superfab! I really need to get through my Joss so I can view more Who. I've seen only a handful of epis on Friday nights but in random order. So I'm sure your viddie would mean allot more if I got the bigger story of whats going on. It was done really well though. I dont have time to sit and watch everyones. I really want to watch the Faith one, if things settle down here I can backtrack them then. Got to dash! Toodles!
