Hey- Speaking of Science and Evil-
Gotta recommend a book called
'Dark Nature- The biloigical origin of Evil' by Lyall Watson
FANTASTIC book. Interesting study of the influence of genetics on cultural perceptions of evil.

What will be the price indeed?
So, was it worth it?

I take it that's a yes.
Sometimes it is worth it to give in to temptation, and then other times it really isn't.

I have a dilemma that I think b'man might be able to help out with, due to his fondness for married women, a few weeks ago, I went on Classmates.com, Since then this guy I went to school with has been sending me messasges at the site quite frequently.
He's married, works in a law firm not far from where I live, I made the mistake of mentioning I live downtown. Now he keeps asking me to lunch, I don't know if he's just interested in getting together with an old school chum, or if he's going through an early mid life crisis, and thinks I might fool around with him.
One thing that he said sounded kind of cryptic, he said ''I've been living a real straight arrow life, happily married, satisfied with my career, but I feel like life is passing me by too quick''
Does that sound like he's implying he's in the market for an extramarital affair? Or am I just paranoid?

Hmmm, love advice from the bitterman. I think that could have truly disastrous consequences. But here's what I think about High School Guy: lawyer scumbag trying to get the job done, possibly suffering mid-life, probably a serial cheater, avoid at all costs.
On the other hand if that's your thing, have a coffee and chat (lunch is too big a step) and see how it goes. If he's easy on the eyes, relatively witty, and doesn't spend the entire time talking about himself and actually takes an interest in what you are saying, maybe he's not too much of a jerk. Take your pants off.
There's also the safety factor- if you aren't looking to get involved with someone, find one that's already involved *bada-bing*, everyone wins.
Is my commitment phobia coming through loud and clear enough?

Ahh, I'm laughing so hard my stomach aches, I've seen his picture on his company website, he's slightly on the nerdy side, like he was in school. So I don't think he's a sleazy lawyer, but who knows his specialty is bankruptcy law, but that might come in handy. ;D

I think it's the nature of their clients, makes them self-loathing and crazy.

He did say he doesn't like his clients because they're rich trust fund boys who never had to work hard for a living, plus he's a democrat. But he has 2 kids so I wouldn't get involved with him, I just needed a guy's perspective on whether or not he was hitting on me, but that's really subjective so I'll probably just have coffee with him.
