Well even though you didn't ask for my perspective - it might be helpful.
I don't always catch on that guys are hitting on me, which sometimes leads to trouble.
But from what you've said it does sound like he's probably hitting on you to me.
But he could sincerly just want to visit with an old high school friend.
Probaly depends on how close you guys were in High School as to whether his intentions are nobel or not.
At least by meeting in a public place you're not being put in a position where you can be forced into anything, and it could answer your question better.

Lawyers are cynical planners by nature. After re-reading your post, and paying more attention to the 'straight arrow' line, I really get the feeling this mutt is just trying to get lucky. Especially knowing your place is convenient to his office. Don't know what the highschool history was, but all the signals say stay away, he's only after 1 thing.

Well, in school he was part of the a-student crowd, and I was very rebellious. Also, he had a crush on me then but I mostly ignored him. I act way different from the way I did in my teens. So if I did meet him for coffee, he'd be surprised and most likely disappointed. That would put an end to any illusions he might have. C69, you're right, meeting in a public place, in the daytime is safe, and if he does just want to catch up on old times that would be cool. That's the reason I posted on the classmates site in the first place. Thank you both for the input, my reply was delayed a bit because I walked down to the lakefront to catch the air & water show, it was amazing, I've never seen fighter jets that close up before. But I had to leave, looking up at the sky for extended periods of time really gives me a headache. So here I am back indoors on a sunny day. I'm such a hermit.

I know what you mean. I don't like being out in the sun too much because it's so bright.
It's a gorgeous day outside right now so I should be out and about. My roller blades are collecting dust because they haven't been used in a long time.
Today would be a great day to play some roller hockey. Sadly I have no one to play with. I used to play with my ex, but he was a cheating loser so I dumped him.
Anyway the only other person I know who likes to skate is my sister, and she lives 3 hours away. That's a long drive just to play some hockey.
Talking about all the hockey made me forget about what my original point was.
Oh yeah, the fighter jets. I used to watch them do training excercises quite a bit where I used to live.
When I was 15 my parents moved us to the middle of nowhere -which I totally hated. Anyway the military did lots of training exercises above where we live. I believe because of the lack of population out there.
I don't know if any of you are familiar with Missouri at all but I used to live within walking distance of Johnson Shut-ins State Park. It's very sparcely (sp?) populated out there.
The park is very beautiful by the way. Great for swimming, but hard to get into because so many people come in from all over to go there.
If anyone ever feels like a road trip and are in my neighborhood maybe we could visit there.

Watching the large jets was cool, but the small planes were doing some really dangerous twisty nose dive tricks, it looked they were gonna hit the water but at the last minute they'd pull up again. Then these two pairs of planes made a heart shape out of the exhaust when they reached the bottom of the ''heart'' I thought they were gonna collide.
You should just go out and skate C69, I walked over to the show by myself, nobody want's to pay the high parking fees to visit me, one downside to living in the city. By the lake here people jog, skate and bike alone. It is highly populated though. Is it safe to do that where you live?

Yes, its very safe to do that were I live.
I used to go for walks in the middle of the night by myself all the time. My ex (not the cheating one, the psycho one) used to get mad at me for doing that because girls can't go out at night by themselves. He was such an idiot.
You know the song I'm just a girl by No Doubt? He treated me like that song, well kinda worse actually but that's another story.
Anyway I don't really have a problem going out by myself, but its more fun to skate with someone else. Plus its a little hard to play hockey by yourself.
I could walk to the park and play on the swings though.

LOL, of course you can't play hockey by yourself, my bad. So you had a cheating ex and a psycho ex, sounds like we have something in common, the psycho part at least. I know what you mean about being treated just like the ''I'm just a girl'' girl. My ex would call me on my cell phone when I went to the grocery store, the laundromat, my relatives house. You name it. I was tempted to throw that phone away. Playing on the swings sounds fun, I cut through the park on the way home today, and thought about taking a swing but I changed my mind. I was worried I would look stupid. Who says swings are just for kids? I should've just went for it.

You only look stupid if you fall off the swings. Or try to jump off and fall over. Er, because that happened to this guy I knew...

Swings are definitely not just for kids.
They're really fun actually. My Dad bought us a big park size swingset when I was in 4th Grade. He used to swing on it with us. Our yard was the most popular one in the neighborhood.
And as for the loser thing. I had my psycho loser, and a cheating loser so I'm hoping I don't have to put up with any other kind of loser before finding a good one.

I used to do back flips off our swingset. Now I'd probably crack my head open if I tried that, but it was fun.
I've never fallen off of a swing, exactly. I did have one break out from under me when I was a kid. I didn't get hurt, but I can't say it was fun.

I broke my wrist on a teeter totter when I was 13, now that was embarrassing I started to fall off and didn't let go of the handle fast enough.

Pardon my ignorance but what is this "teeter totter" that you speak of?

A teeter totter is also called a see saw.
It's a long board that has support in the middle. One person gets on each side and sits on the board. When one person goes up the other goes down.
That's kinda hard to explain if you've never seen one. Hopefully you just call it a different name where you're from.

Yeah, a see saw. Americans have funny words.

Yes, we do. I don't know where teeter totter came from. That's always what we called it growing up though.
I'm glad see saw made it all clear.
