I was wondering about something. A couple of the ads for jobs that I am looking at ask me to send Salary Requirements or Salary history. I was just wondering, what do they mean? They want to know how much you have made as yearly before in other jobs for this field. (Salary History). This would be gross (before tax). And what are your expectations for salary. What are you hoping to make. If you put down $90,000 for a part time level entry writer, then your probably waisting their time. But the flip side, if you put down $10,000, which would be low, then they could be getting your low pitch offer. In my opinion it is a little like playing poker with this question. I typically provide "Salary is negotiable". But you may want to surf on Monster.com and see what advise is being dished out for 2006. The rules tend to change regarding proper job application etiquette.

Thanks.
I have no salary history, so that can help me.

Thanks for the Karma.
And about 15 minutes after I asked the question, my mom came home and basically told me the same thing.

Also Kev, they are going to figure out how old you are (even when you dont provide your age). Basically from your college duration dates, and then the amount of work history you are providing, those dates -- a potential employer will know right away you are younger.
They will not expect you to answer this question. Especially job history salary figures.
So I would feel it would be appropriate for you to state "Salary is negotiable" for your salary requirements.

Kevee, if you need to use me as a reference, I am a business owner and I would be happy to do that. I can speak for your character.
Just PM me, let me know.
Altho they might wonder about the association. So --

So, Karen, how do you know Kevin here?
Well, he cyber-holds my hand during Buffy Marathons ...
Good luck on the job hunt, Kev!

Dez: How do I know Kev? Well, he's always online on these internet chat forums -- yes he's very reliable, he has nearly 5,000 posts between all the different places he logs on every day. So I would say that's reliable. Sure.
What do we chat about? Oh blood sucking, bouncy upper halves of women, siring, nakkidness, -- oh there is some real rich stuff in there too like reviewing what we saw on tv and --
What I think of Kev? Well from his web cammie, I'd say --
*click* Hello? --- Are you still there?
.
Yes Nick, agree. After writing that I considered how odd it would be to disclose how I know Kev. Unless just to say a family friend. I was trying to help, but I might not make the best reference considering the venue of our relationship.
Do I get an "A" for effort?

Nah, I wasn't putting you down for your effort. I think it's great you're willing to do that for Kev.
I tease. It's what I do. ;D

Well...I got a response today from a The Cecil Whig, and the editor sent me a list of 5 situations, and asked me to respond on if a certain situation merits a story or not, or if that situation needs more investigation. I answered to the best of my ability.
