You know, when I went for the job. I was kinda hoping the bosses name was Manny. Mainly because I wanted to joke about wrtting a book called Manny the Manager.

My understanding was that even mulletvamps avoided Buffy after work because they couldn't really get past the, um, smell.
You might be all the more protected.
Nick, that sucks and I'm sorry to hear it. Really, best of luck.
And Kev, I wish I knew of any openings at all I could refer you to. You might try sending a resume and clipfile here, tho -- we haven't had a night reporter for awhile and I think it's starting to grate on people's nerves. Bryan Obenchain, editor, Minot Daily News, P.O. Box 1150, Minot, ND 58702-1150. It'd get you some experience and I believe they do still actually pay people ...

Kev and Nick, maybe y'all need to let us write your resumes.
(You supply the details.)
You boyz just have no idea how special you are and wouldn't brag on yourselves if you did.
Just remember that smart employers will grab up a good worker in a nanosecond and life is too short to serve under someone a few hushpuppies short of a fish fry.
Kev,if the Minot Obenchains are anything like the Shelbyville branch, you'd be working under a pretty decent guy.
When I see who and what gets hired out there,I have no clue as to why the bosses wouldn't be competing to get personable and competent folks with a good work ethic.
But then,do you think the same people who hired Harmony would have given a job to Cordy or Buffy?
(Maybe y'all ought to dumb it down a bit and conceal the part about having a soul....)
Best of luck!

Hey! I have you know I'm an excellent boss. As long as people are geting their work done I give them some room to have fun.
I don't like to micromanage people to death. It's not fun for anyone.
Congrats on the new job Phoe. Let me know how you like it. ;D I will but I have just a tiny question. Will I end up smelling like burgers afterwards? I don't really know, my sense of smell is nearly non-existant. I would imagine you would though, especially if you work in the back.
It's not as bad as it sounds on Buffy though. On the rare occasion when I actually go out where the people are I still get hit on so I must not smell too terribly badly.
When I used to work nights I'd get hit on at work all the time but I was much younger then. It was also annoying since it was usually drunk older guys and carloads of younger guys. I hated working Friday and Saturday nights for that reason.
You may not have those problems though since the world is a little bit different now. For one, now the customers can get in trouble for sexual harrassment for doing those things if they're making you uncomfortable. You don't have to take it anymore.
Nick, I'm sorry things are sucking at work for you now. I'm sure you'll find a great job in no time at all.

Thanks, guys.
Yesterday was rough, but one good thing that came out of it was that I finally did a draft of my resume. Silver linnings and all that. ;D
Congrats Aly! Best of luck tomorrow.
Oh, and Cordy, maybe they hit on you because of the smell?

Congratulations!!!
Yep,folks know they can't move on to better things until they've arranged for a scintillating successor.
The shrewd bosses don't worry you'll take over their position.
They COUNT ON your propelling them forward by your excellence.

Oh, and Cordy, maybe they hit on you because of the smell? Well they must really love the smell of hamburgars then.
Congrats on the interview going well Aly. Looks like it's new jobs for everyone ... well, except me.
Jobs in my area are ... well, I can be a validator. Or a plumber. Or an electrician. Unfortunately no computer jobs to speak of that I'm qualified for, and where I would actually make more money than I do now.
It's surprising how many better sounding jobs would actually require me to take a pay cut - which would be on top of a huge commute where'd I'd be spending way too much money on gas.
I really need to move.

In a way,it's too bad so many of you have new jobs, etc.
Our local Mennonite community just had a falling-out with their local bishop and packed up en masse and left for Texas.
That leaves a big chunk of the county empty with terrific farmland and orchards and bakery equipment left behind.
I bet the PTB would love to have another intentional community take over.
The breadth and depth of your skills would make y'all welcome anywhere.
It's not a bad place to live.
(Think Pylea with music and fewer bearded matriarchs.)

After college I went back to school for supposedly in demand job training. I got certified ans a paralegal just as half the country did. There were about 10 people for every job.
Then I got my A+ certification in computer repair. Each job I applied for didn't seem to like just the certification. They all wanted people with 2 year electrical degrees.
I'm not sorry about getting the A+ though. Very useful information to know.
Congrats on the interview, Aly.
