Just wanted to make sure everyone knew about the New Year's Eve screening of "Serenity" -- and I'm guessing that this would be a perfectly good place to natter about it, too.
Now that we've all got our shiny new DVDs (with a few exceptions -- who we are choked up for -- honestly, in some cases, there are even tears), let's pop them in around 10 or so in readiness to hit "PLAY" at about 11:13:15/10:13:15c by the board clock, which -- thank you to Auntie for timing this out -- gives 2006 an absolutely explosive beginning for ... some of us.
Countdowns, WHOO-HOO!s, Top Ten Things We Won't Miss About 2005, smooches -- all are perfectly wonderful miscellania incumbent upon the Event. I myself may even take the stage in The ALLEYWAY with an encore presentation of my 2000 New Year's poem: "Always Remember to Recycle Your Millennimum." ;D
So with all that to look forward to, I ask you, who could possibly miss the 2006 Angel'Tomers New Year's Zombie Screening of "Serenity"?
We'll hope to see you there. Otherwise, have a good one, and don't let the door smack your ass on your way out of 2005! ;D

Cool idea!
Of course, the timezone thing will come into effect - if I start watching when you all do, I'll be starting around 2 or 3 AM! lol - but of course, since most of you are in the US, it makes sense to start when you say.
Also, seeing as though my version of Serenity is in PAL format, it runs ever-so-slightly faster (around 1 frame per second faster) that your NTSC versions.....lol

Your start time might put us past midnight, tj, or are you building in a little buffer?
The wall blasts open at 1:46:44 (just before it hits :44 seconds).
* Suddenly wanting to double check that * ;D

Well, in all reality, the board clock is so unreliable that the New Year will be observed in the Central Time Zone when the wall blasts behind River.
* wonders offhand what will be going on in the BDM when it's New Years in the Eastern Time Zone *

If I start watching when you all do, I'll be starting around 2 or 3 AM!
Maybe you can take a nap or set your alarm, or perhaps you'll still be up and thoroughly soused by then so we can grin at errors made while posting under the influence. ;D

Then you'll be sober as a judge and perfectly capable of joining in as we all post under the influence. ;D

As long as you all post your thoughts on the movie and not just a running commentary...lol

Well, I probably won't be doing the screening of Serenity because I will be hanging out with a friend tomorrow night.

I will be here tomorrow, and I guarantee nothing.
I could go to William Floyd's party only it's not a good environment for Enzo so I'll have to skip that this year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I'll be here but I don't have Serenity.
Eh, I can't be bothered going to the Alleyway to talk about my New Years. Its too far.
Every New Year, my dad, brother and me go drive through the city around 10-15 mins before midnight to see the fireworks. As soon as it hits midnight, all the traffic stops and looks at the fireworks with everyone else. While watching fireworks, I thought maybe I should call up some friends and say HNY, when I noticed a couple having sex on the ground a few feet away from a busy road. You would at least think they would have gone some place more privet-ish.
So I called up friends, said HNY and we drove around Melbourne for an hour listening to music. Its was a very hot day today, saw lots of cuties, some of them were shirtless too and now I'm home............... God I am so bored right now.

Howdy y'all!!!
I FINALLY got my computer in sync with BellSouth's 'improvements' on our phone line.
All it took was a new router, new software and 3 (or was it 4?) sessions with the techie person.
Anyhoo,Jim and I will be celebrating at some friends' home this evening but I'll check back with you as soon as I can.
(Jim has to catch up on his missed net time, too.)
We are now experts at Patience, mine detection and Kolor Lines....
(places a Crock-Pot full of Hoppin' John next to a bowl of spinach dip and one of chunky salsa surrounded by an array of chips, cheeses and crackers.)
Happy Gnu Ears!!!
