Higher Power makes some really good points about the gradual take over of Cordelia, the reactionary shots he mentioned happened when there weren't any other characters present [or awake] just us viewers. So the look on her face when she wakes up next to Connor is definitely more Cordelia than Jasmine.

Skip impugning Cordy's character -- "No, she ascended because she was so good and pure" -- was so bogus. Maybe it's hard to buy the sassy, materialistic Cordy as being worthy of ascension, but she'd allowed massive portions of her brain to be killed off for the Greater Good. That's pretty graphic self-sacrifice. And when she got her demon powers, she didn't get corrupt and start abusing them. She was worthy.
But Jasmine, in league with Skip, was opportunistic. Cordy's being essentially imprisoned in a higher dimension was Skip manipulating events -- that wasn't where she was meant to be. Jazzy used her to manifest in this dimension.
If they'd showed her descend again and make her appearance in the Hyperion, we'd have had more clues as to when exactly Jazzy possessed her. But in that we panned directly to a recorporealized Cordy, those clues are, sadly, lost to us.

Season 4, not my most favorite season. I think some of the errors were that they stayed in the darkness an extended period of time. It started a little before the the middle of the season and just kept on going and going. There really weren't any lighter episodes in between like previous seasons.
Also they shouldn't have ended every season with a cliffhanger. It makes it much harder for ones who aren't able to watch every week to have a clue what is going on.
Cordelia's character was completely messed up in this season and they made many not like her deeper character in season 3.
Evil Cordelia wasn't a thrill either. Completely messed things up.
Jasmine oh Jasmine how much I hate her. An evil lying sack with a side order french fries and rye bread. I really didn't like her as a villian
Cordelia/Conner relationship was a complete mistake to air on tv.

I think as I pointed out on another Angel forum. Since Angel is technically the evil lying sack's grandfather, as creepy as that is, doesn't he share her blood like Connor does, so wouldn't he be able to see the creepalicious side of her from the moment she rose from Cordelia?
But y'know that coulda just been the lack of oxygen in the Angel offices.
