Pop Quiz! Although Xander is a main character and was credited for every episode, he was actually not in at least 1 episode. Can anyone name these episodes without cheating?

I think the only episode Xander did not appear in is "Conversations with Dead People" in season 7. There are several episodes where he appears in only one or two scenes but, CWDP is the only one he does not appear in.

You know what the sad thing is? I never even realised he was missing from that episode!
Although that episode was good, I think it would have been better if they had manage to get Tara to taunt Willow, Jesse to taught Xander, and Halfrek to taught Anya.

The plan was for Tara to taunt Willow, but IIRC Amber Benson didn't want to play Tara as "First evil pretending to be Tara" so the idea was dropped.

I think they didn't want to pay Amber much for appearing in the ep. They couldn't work out something that they all could agree on.

I believe you two are right...Amber Benson had commented that being the evil Tara/First would've ruined the memory of Tara. I also remember there being rumors of the money issues with having her back...but all in all Amber turned down the offer either way, for whatever reason.

I thought that was the whole point of 'the First'. It would be more believable (for me anyway) that the First becomes Tara to taunt Willow.
