I'm currently working on a series of 18 poems. Each poem will represent a different one of my friends. I've currently finished 3 of them. I just thought I'd post these here as I write them since I haven't been on that much in the past.
[glow=green,2,300]"Let's Travel America without the Annoying M"
You silly little girl
Where is your Delaware?
Your state so boring
That only historians care
I stand before your Alaska
And hear your Arizona was great
From so many expatriates
Who are now filled with hate
I wish I could plot a map
To a world that didn't pain ya
Fill in the faded trail
Between Utah and Pennsylvania
The entire south of North Dakota
And 94 percent of Ohio
Those in the east of West Virginia
We all just want to know
Who are you really?
At the core of your Kansas
From the tip of your Texas
And the rest of that land mass
Who are you really?
At the top of you Washington
Glowing in the New York moon
Growing in the Nevada sun
When'd you turn to New Jersey?
To Georgia to Connecticut
And Colorado/South Dakota/Idaho
Is where you ended up
I want to hear your Illi-noise
I want to Tennes-see your flower's thorns
I might check out your Iowa
Though I know all I'll find is corn
Let's make a phone call in Virginia
We'll send an e-mail to Kentucky
And we can smoke signal California
To meet Dr. Jones in Indiana if we're lucky
Hop on a plane to Nebraska
Take a road trip to Rhode Island
Badger a badger in Wisconsin
Land North Carolina to make castles from sand
I want to see how you went from South Carolina and Louisiana
All the way up to Arkansas and Oregon
Let's meet you, little girl
Let's travel America without the annoying M
So have fun inside your Florida
Maybe listen to 'Float On''s side B
Let's give the kids something to scream about
When you unionize Hawaii[/glow]
[glow=purple,2,300]"The Boy Who Hacked the Moon"
The world is f**king falling apart!
Cupid's stabbed Hefner strait in his heart
And the waves from the moon's crash have toppled giraffes
But there's one boy on Earth who sees this and laughs
He's the boy who hacked the moon
He's the boy who flooded the sun
He's sent millions to their dooms
And he's done it all for fun
No one is safe from his all seeing eyes
No corners, no bushes, no where left to hide
Gates is now a bum, and the bums are putting up gates
They're best at living like this and refuse to feel your hate
He's the general to the fort
He's the law to the court
He's the king to the people
He's the god to the steeple
All hail the boy who hacked the moon
All hail the boy who flooded the sun
Let's all march chaotically to our doom
And let us do it for his fun
He stands above us all
And smiles as the old world fall
And as his alarm clock screams
He tries to not let go of his dreams[/glow]
[glow=blue,2,300]"The Jack to My Meg"
You're creative, from abnormal houses
We love like siblings, fight like ex-spouses
You'll take the world by surprise
You'll play the music they thought had died
No matter where you go
I want you to know
I'll be the drummer in your band
Together we'll fight gasoline
And cover Dolly Parton's 'Jolene'
Write a song about a little squirrel
Point out differences between boys and girls
Resurrect Dutch schools of art
Make a show and play our parts
No matter where you go
I want you to know
I'll be the drummer in your band
We toy with anger and innocence
Striped around us like a peppermint
Ask the villains to please repent
With the clumsy grace of an elephant
And say, 'Get behind me,' to the prince of Hell
We're protected by our white blood cells
Addicted to coffee and cigarettes
Back on the day when we first met
Told you, 'I'll be your Meg, you be my Jack'
No matter where you go I'll have your back
And when the world changes I'll let you nag
You be my Jack, I'll be your Meg
I'll be the drummer in your band[/glow]
