Figure I might as well kick off the inevitable thread about a new TV show. For me, Desperate Housewives has been the most enjoyable (and the only new show I've stuck with- sadly, I don't get any stations that carry Rescue Me ). The actresses are all perfect, and I find the 'dramedy' feel really works. I don't think I've been so amused and so intrigued at the same time.
What do you guys think?

So far I'm really enjoying the show. It's pretty funny.
And I want to know what's in the box.
I wasn't sure if I'd like the show. It seemed too girly with the title. I don't usually go for shows like that - even if I am a girl.
But I have to say the show kicks @ss so far. I'm very impressed with ABC so far this season.
Between Lost and Desperate Housewives they have a good thing going.

There's our two 'on-topic' posts. Since this is a main page, we're now obliged to drift off on a thousand different tangents. Ooooh, new episode Sunday...funnage!

I can't wait to see tomorrow's episode.
I won't be watching it in real time though. I'm going to Fright Fest at Six Flags tomorrow. Should be loads of fun, but I won't be home in time to catch the show.
Since I lost my VCR remote, and the universal remotes don't have a timer button I can't set my VCR to tape it.
My friend Celeste is supposed to tape it for me - I just hope she doesn't forget.

Ooooh, great episode last night!
S P O I L E R
I'm really getting frustrated with all the hints about the Young family- what the hell is going on? And why is the kid on medication? Why did the father keep the gun? And who the hell was in that box? Also, what happened to Mike not getting over his wife? That kind of disappeared in this episode. But he and Susan have some great chemistry, so I'll ignore that fact. Also, we still don't find out what the snoopy neighbor's up to with the measuring cup (and if Edie's put it together yet). I loved Lynette and Gabrielle's individual storylines- giving the kids cookies and teaching Ashley to ride a bike (btw, the casting director got the perfect child actor for the job, imho) were both comedic genius. But the best part by far was the humanizing of Bree's character- she was a lot more sympathetic (but still hilarious) through the entire episode. "Rex cries after he ejaculates" had me in tears. Overall, I'd say this show's got a lot of potential, and it's about the only reason I've found to watch TV this season.
END SPOILERS!

I finally got around to watching the episodes I had taped. I am intrigued to say the least. It feels like a nightmare Martha Stewart had after a dinner of beanie weenies in the prison cafeteria, followed by watching TV in the common room and seeing one of those creepy Walgreens "perfect" ads.

I was totally floored by Bree's revelation about Rex and the crying. That was so mean!
Ashley, the new kid on the block, loved that line ''I'm homeschooled, I'm always home''. Poor Gabrielle,
So, there's definitely a body in that box, and I get the feeling that Mary Alice's son might be in some danger. That dad creeps me out.

I loved Gabrielle's husband (Carlos?)'s thoughts on the subject.
"If I had to sleep with that woman, I'd be crying too."
Houston, we have a hit.

Wanted to pop in and say I LOVE THIS SHOW! But most of my banter is on the 'Tome forum Totally agree with everyone, tho -- great storylines, great writing and excellent casting.

This morning on The Daily Buzz they mentioned that a lot of advertisers are deciding to quit advertising this show due to its racey subjects. They mentioned that there were a lot of complaints from people saying they shouldn't advertise this show due to its sexual storylines etc...frankly that's a stupid jesture, to complain about ads, but people are, and therefore some advertisers won't be promoting this show a lot.

I think I might have my mom convinced to give it a try. She doesn't much care for Teri Hatcher, but she might watch the pilot when they reshow it Saturday. It took me forever to get her to give Buffy a try. She loves it now though.
