My copy is on its way, 80 percent dl'd in less than four hours.
How exactly did I survive before broadband?
And, naturally, that's a bad tj.

OMG I loved this eppy!
Part of it is that it's been too long. I thought taking everyone to the moon was a bit silly, but there were also space rhinos, so that's not a real complaint.
Why did I get so excited about the vampire? I really liked her. I thought the out-of-control MRI was a bit dodgy, but I liked the whole thing. I loved the Doctor pretending to be human and I loved Freema.
I can honestly see getting away from that family. ;D
Loved it, loved it, loved it.

BTW should we not start a thread for Doctor Who 2007 instead of posting here?

It was amazing. It was ballsy and brashy both.
G-d, we've missed you. How are things?
And MaxC, we're not starting a new thread every year.

haha, just seen it... I echo Tj's post - it was a very good episode. One thing that attracts me to Dr Who, I think is the same reason it that I became a fan of Buffy - the episodes have heart. It doesn't matter too much about inconsistencies, or wierd plot lines, and just general strangness - but as long as the episode has heart, then it's a good episode. I guess.

Got me some Shakespeare Code already, but I'm delaying gratification.
I'm going to watch it on my teevee rather than my computer, so I'm burning it now.
I'm ever so much looking forward to it, tho.
It looks ... shiny.

I am so psyched about seeing me some DALEKS!Martha: "What's with the wandering waste-paper baskets?" Also, I keep not knowing where exactly to share this observation, but it occurs to me that if the Daleks were to sing, I think they'd sound like "She Wants Revenge."

Good Job Dr Who Some series can used the favourite evil too much. Star Trk did the same with the Borg - coolest enemy in the world when they introduced them in TNG, and they became just non threatening in Voyager. Absolute waste. However, IMO, they did something really clever in this episode. The Darlek is probably he series most scariest and most important enemy, next to the Cyberman. The enemy that defeated the Time Lords (and Ladies). Instead of waiting for the Darlek to lose their shine by having episodes upon episodes of Darlek, they reinvented them! They are now (or should be) even more dangerous and even more terrifying than ever before! Something that could survive, repopulate, and become even more of a threat. Hopefully they can keep the momentum up.

That's the suck part about Evil though. The more you get to know it and understand it, the less scarey it is. Obviously I won't ellaborate on this since it was a response to what you were saying in the spoiler. But I'd just like to defend Voyager by saying TNG wore the scarey off the borg before they did. Course they did sorta grind it into the ground. But, it was bound to happen.

OK, honestly, I was unhappy with last week's installment. The Doc shows up in NooYawk just in time to stop the Daleks from doing something. Talk about "Of all the gin joints in all the world." And I hated the Dalek Sek-Human. He hybridized by ingesting him? Oh wait, later I'm going to hybridize with a hamburger and become the Loa! Between the Daleks injecting themselves into the construction of the Empire State Building (which I guess I'd always understood was part of some World Fair project) and the pig slaves (how pointless are pig slaves?) I was just ... really unhappy by the end. And then this week's installment happened. And I was happier. Except for the free and loose transmission of DNA all over the place. Yeah, I get the advanced technology and so forth, but human shells infused with Dalek DNA and, then, Timelord DNA? I'd have prefered their own humanity raise the question -- especially since the Doctor was just a squirrel on the powerline. Honestly? My best suggestion for an endgame is the Doctor absorbing the gamma radiation since they've told us this season he can do that. Then there's no psych war going on inside all of the human shells. The Daleks can reject the Sek/Human hybrid, they can reject the uppity human-Dalek shells and they can be reduced to just the one -- Dalek Khan ... oh, excuse me ... [shatneresque] KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN!!! [shatneresque]Overheard, naturally, at DalekCon'08. ;D That and the Doc should've been vaporized several times over as a matter of course. Well, we can't go a season without Daleks making an appearance in one form or another, so maybe this can be it for them. Here's. Hoping.

My thoughts on episodes 4 and 5: I didn't like them. I thought they were crap. Well, that comes right out and says it.
Meh. Maybe they'll vanish into the memory of the show like "Eternity," of which episode pillows were embroidered reading "Let us never speak of it again."

This week's was way better.
Especially if you could suspend disbelief on the fact that in humans, a single cell going a little bit haywire can kill us. And we don't really switch about from being terrifically old to excitingly young to gigantic Jasmaniacs, all with the dermal elasticity of a teenager.
Course, if you can't suspend disbelief that much, it got a bit silly.
And what's with Martha's mum? She trusts random Saxons (and G-d knows what he whispered in her shell-like ear?) more than her own daughter. Also, scolding her for running off and leaving her when she did so to SAVE THE FREEQIN' DAY!.
G-d love her, I have more sympathy for Martha's dad leaving her with each passing appearance.
And YAY! Martha's officially signed on as Companion!
(kinda saw it coming, but I still clapped.) ;D
Oh, and then there was this in the previews for two weeks from now:

I didn't like episode 5 either, it wasn't what I expected. I think I know what they were trying to do but it just didn't come off very well. This week episode, a filler and it was just okay. However, the evolution of the human species seems to be better in Dr Who than in the Voyager episode 'Warp 10'.
To DPG, I agree with your comment about TNG. To me, Voyager was the one that made me feel that the Borg were defanged. I think First Contact is still one of my favorite movies.
