I made this thread so I can keep you all updated on my soon to be, bundle of joy without the whole board being bogged down with boring baby news. I guess a good start will be my ultrasound pictures.... [/b]

ALREADY that is the cutest little blob of blur EVAH!!!(You know I'm already marrying this child off to Samuel.) If we can't share the swollen feet, morning sickness, etc.,at least we get to share in the pride and love part. Thanks for including us in the fun of getting to know this wonderful new person.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who just sees a blob lol. Someone told me the other day they thought it was a boy based on the facial features! Pffft! Looks more like a Rorschach test to me
But there's no doubt there's something there. Though at this point, if I didn't know better, I wouldn't even know for sure it was human.

I saw the face and arm,too-and I spotted the man in the coffee beans in less than 3 seconds!!! The kid has definitely passed the stage of looking like a newt or a chicken or something. But it'll be a while before it decides whether it wants to pass for human or just go with appearing divine. (Keep up the good work, fetal Feigy!!!)

Well, it's been a while since I've been here to talk about the new baby coming. I have a little less than 2 months left! YIKES!
Going on the 31st of July for another ultrasound. Maybe this time the kid will let us know if it's a boy or a girl demon child.
We're all overjoyed around here of course. But This being preggerz thing is getting old now. I'm hobbling around like a chicken and I think the kid has decided to prepare me for no sleep for when he comes into the world. I haven't been sleeping well at all. But other than trying to keep my back from playing up more than usual, I'm having an uneventful if cumbersome pregnancy. So, yay me I guess
I'll post pics when I get them.

I'm looking forward to the next installment. I hope you're letting yourself be spoiled rotten. You deserve major cosseting. If I remember correctly, kids ' intellect and virtue were directly corellated to how hard it was for their moms to find a comfortable position, get off of squishy furniture and digest food like a normal human being. If you have goblins pummeling your back, acid reflux and need a derrick or levitation spell to get off the couch, then the child is Mensa material and will be doing all the housework for you before it's weaned. Even faster if you have to cut a hole in your mattress to accommodate your tummy while you attempt to sleep. I'm glad you've had a rather comfortable, uneventful confinement so far. The worst is probably over re morning sickness, edema, etc. Now,it'll be more about the waiting game. Relax and enjoy this part of your life all you can and tend to yourself (and your loved ones) as well as your passenger. I know this young'un is feeling very privileged to have you already and that will only increase after the delivery and y'all REALLY get to know one another. I wish you the best for all that lies ahead.

Ok well I got the ultrasound but I didn't bother with pics this time. Mainly because they had me in there for 2 hours poking prodding and just plain torturing me. Normally I'd be ok with that, but in this case it just made me annoyingly sore.
I mean in general, who doesn't love a good poking and prodding?
In any case, we have determined that we are having a girl. Which figures since we wanted a boy. But we're still very happy of course.
Her name will be Kelsey Lynn.
I went for my checkup a few days after the ultrasound and they seemed to think that in conjunction with the ultrasound results and the measurements they took of my belly, I have too much fluid growth. So now they are concerned about the actual baby growth. However, the baby is averaging the correct sizes she should for my due date. So basically I think they just want to torture me for fun now.
I have yet another ultrasound this week and a follow-up checkup. I imagine they'll tell me everything is fine and dandy with a little twinkle in their eye at the thought of making me fill my bladder and proceeding to poke and prod me yet again. Well, at least they can get some enjoyment out of the situation.
Well that's the latest in Babyland. More to come later.

I'm glad you and Kelsey Lynn are doing well. Doctors today are REQUIRED to make any ordinary, innocous procedure as lengthy, uncomfortable and ignominious as possible. Highfalutin' treatment or such unnecessary options as taking a patient's historyare over in an instant. So long as the edema isn't linked with high blood pressure, gestational diabetes or anything of that ilk, then it exists solely to give you an ungainly waddle and a constant urge to pee. Kelsey Lynn will learn in utero the words we women live by: "It's just water weight. It'll go away. " Think of it as her getting in touch with the primal God-as-Mother as she floats in a cradle of warm, salty fluid, burgeoning with life like the sea.... (In the meantime, enjoy the cucumbers and bananas, etc. ) I wish the best for you and your wonderful growing family.

Oh no, it's not water weight they're worried about. They're actually concerned that I have too much amniotic fluid! Personally I think that's insane. I mean that just means the baby won't be smothering anytime soon. Course they're also concerned that she's not relieving herself the way she should. I'm sure there's a connection there but I am too tired to care as long as they come back saying baby is fine.
So far I've gotten lucky. I'm one of those annoying women who only gained belly inches. The rest of me looks the same.
I am somewhat relieved to note that my boobs didn't get any bigger too. They were large enough in my opinion already. They got fuller I suppose, but I haven't had to change cup sizes so I'm glad about that.

OK, I realize this is shameless and probably horribly tasteless. But, the baby is almost here and while I would love to say I have everything we need for baby's arrival, we don't have much in the way of family or anything like that. Soooo just to let you know, I have a baby registry at Amazon.com if you want to poke around and have a look at it.
I'll be updating it daily when I think of more crap we could use. Just search for me under Carol Wright if you want to see the list of junk
Of course I won't be offended if you decide I'm on crack for this shameless promotion, but even diapers would be a help if you have a few extra bucks

That sounds fine with me. It'd be hard for us to throw you a shower otherwise. Plus, people usually don't know how to give the right thing so online registiries are good for people low on clues and/or cash. (Hint: little things can offer big convenience so folks shouldn't be hesitant to give 'stocking stuffer' gifts like baby lotion,q-tips,grip oil [for colic},etc. There are a LOT of baby things you can't outgrow or have too much of.) I went to an online baby registry for my cousin this past spring. She got everything she needed and could swap the few things that were redundant. (The registry checked off what she'd gotten and made reccommendations for things to go with them. "She has the foam cushion for the bath tub. How about getting the lavendar and tea tree toileteries?") Thanks to her internet shower, she had her diapers ,baby lotion ,thermometer and food warmer -along with recieving blankets and onezies. Offline? The kid got 4 pair of riding boots... BBIAB when I find YOUR Carol Wright,Feigy...

LOL that's what I was thinking Q-cat
I doubt I've even scratched the surface on all the crap that I should put on that list. But honestly I'm pretty clueless as to what all I need. This being my first and all, I just keep thinking my Mom will have my back on anything I've forgotten.
We've got all the big stuff. And we have a stack of diapers piling up but you can never have too many of those.
So, the baby's still expected on Sept 21st -ish so it's getting closer and I am soooo ready for her to be out and about.

Well, the time finally arrived! Wednesday Sept 19th at 7:30am we officially welcomed all 7.12lb 22inches of bouncing baby girl Kelsey Anne Fitzgerald into the world. After 11 hours of labor she graced us with her presence by way of a surprise C'section.
Pictures to come. But for now, we're getting adjusted and freaking out and generally jumping through all the baby hoops to take good care of her. Well, that's all I have time to post for now. w00t us!!
