I really do like the idea of planning something for next Fall. Given that much time I can pretty much guarantee I could make it work.
Unless you guys get back and find you can't look each other in the eye. Maybe someone stepped on a jellyfish...
(Yes, I know you'd be hard pressed to find jellyfish in the desert.)
We've been planning this trip for nearly a year now and some of us still can't make it.
I would have been able to make it money wise if it had been in April. Fall is hard for me to do anything requiring money since my car insurance is due, plus various other huge bills.
Which is why I won't be going, too many things came up that require payment. Having my student loan payments start a month earlier than I expected are so not helping either.
Even if I requested a deferment, it wouldn't go through in time to help me now. I still have other bills to pay as well.
It's not worth starving or loosing my house just to go to Vegas.
As for Minneapolis, it would probably cost me about the same amount to go their as to go to Vegas.
Chicago wouldn't cost that much for me. Memphis or St. Louis either. If we went to Chicago Auntie wouldn't have to worry about coming up with the cash.
I think we need a tax refund trip - unless everyone else has to pay taxes instead of getting money back?

I get money back, but I spend it on things. ;D
Well, your trip to Chicago is a cheapie. The expense comes in switching trains.
We could go to Chicago. It just seems ... so large as to be unmanagable.
Could we manage it, Auntie?

...or, you know, Malaysia.
We have some nice beaches here.

This might sound odd, but I really don't know Chicago. I've always lived and worked in the suburbs. It's actually quite a trip for me to go into the city. The only time I go anymore is for a ball game.
I think we can figure something out for our next trip that can be inexpensive and easily accessible for everyone.
No! Really!

Or we could do something completely inaccessible and meet in Nepal.
We could pick up some demon essence at the airport.

I would have been disappointed if no one took that route.

But then I looked at a map, and Memphis may be the center of us.
