So have you guys started watching Supernatural again? I have to admit some episodes in Supernatural are really good. I'm still undecided about how they are resolving each problem - sometimes, it seems like luck as they either know exactly what they are talking about, or they have a wild guess that happens to be right.
I'm still watching it. I was really upset when they did the ep that was supposed to take place in Cape Girardeau, Missouri because they didn't even try to make it look like Cape. Otherwise the ep was pretty good.
I liked this weeks ep where the bad guys were actual people. It was pretty funny when they commented on it.
And Dean getting beat by a 13-year-old girl was way too funny.

To say nothing of the episode set in Hibbing, Minnesota (which is roughly where the feller is from)

I waa wondering what you thought of that.
I just can't picture people from Minnesota acting like they were from West Virginia.

Honestly, the only real problem with it was that they were all speaking with west virginia accents for some reason.
Hibbing, and the iron range in general, has a very distinct accent and cadencing (and for that matter, species of inbred people-eaters) The fact that the men were obsessed with hunting, para exampla, is VERY hibbing. But the accents made absolutely no sense.
Oh, and Minnesota (like most states) has no 'State Police' Police departments operate city by city and counties are under the jurisdiction of Sheriff's departments and deputies. There is in fact a state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, but it's more of a collective info processing and tracking source than a state law enforcement body.
Oh, and there's no Hibbing County. The City of Hibbing is in St. Louis County. Of course, if they'd labelled the squads as St. Louis County, I suppose everyone would have been confused. 'Why are they in Missourri?'

I thought of you when I saw that ep. I was wondering how badly they screwed up your neck of the woods. Looks like you got it as badly as Missouri did.
Missouri does have a State Police department so if they would have done that here at least that would have been right.

Same with Delaware. We have out own State Police Department, but we also have town police...heck a town called Fredrica has 5 cops and maybe 500 people. Delaware is strange anyway...I think it's on a hellmouth,

We also have city police and a county sheriff's department as well. We have tons of police protection around these parts. My neck of the woods is reasonably safe to live in and the people here tend to look down on anyone from the neighboring towns - which is stupid but at least I'm reasonably safe.
I just hate living with a bunch of snobs.

You gotta remember that all of this takes place in an alternate dimension. (Details are changed to protect the innocent ) I remember watching a show where the protagonists were staying at the Andrew Jackson Hotel in Nashville. I kept wondering when a car was going to zoom into the honeymoon suite. The Andrew Jackson Hotel had burned, been razed and even as the live,on location story was being filmed on its set, workers were setting up a parking garage.

Well, it is the first season, and the quality of the first season isn't always fantastic so some details arent always brilliant. So far it's been pretty good. It's a lot grittier than Buffy, and there seem to be something interesting going on as a story arc. There are bits and bobs about the mythos that I don't truly understand yet and seems a bit strange to me at time. The absolute worse episode is the ones about the insects mainly because of the quick ending. Also isn't the 'bad guys are actually people' kind of defeating the point of... you know, supernatural? I haven't seen that episode yet, but the few episode beforehand did mention about the morality of killing humans. So maybe its a part of that.

Humans shouldn't get any special dispensations any more than any other type of being. It's when one person decides he and his ilk are too 'different' and 'special' to act as well as others are supposed to that you get into trouble. I think we fear the alien among us because we worry they might do unto us as we are wont to do unto everyone else. 'The bad guys are people' is scary however you cut it.

OKay, did anyone notice that this week's Supernatural was written by Daniel Knauf?
Does anyone know if that is the same Daniel Knauf who created the absofrakkinlutely fantastic series, Carnivale? Cause that would be just ... neat.

Well, he is linked to Carnivale on The Fraud's website so it could be. I haven't seen Carnivale yet. It's one of the shows I've been meaning to watch.
So many shows, so little time.

Huh, I checked earlier, and he wasn't. (linked, I mean). Drove me nuts wondering.
If he's gonna be a regular writer for Supernatural, the series is going to get sooo much better. ::drool::
And Carnivale ... is how Point Pleasant would be if it was done really well (ie. good vs evil)

You have to go under "see all appearances" to get to the Carnivale stuff. They really don't make it easy to find things.
I really want to see Carnivale, I've read good things, I just haven't had the time yet.
