I kind of enjoyed it actually. Although I am officially sick to death of John Carpenter-esque rebel biker old west-y time vampires.
Them taking on the nest gave me a nostalgic glow for Buffy/Faith action back in season 3. Ah... good times.
That said, it was clearly set-up for the big last two episodes of the season and establishing the flebotenum of the 'magic kill-anything gun'

I really enjoyed it as well. I wasn't sure I would since I'm really picky about my vampire mythology but it did work for me.
I really enjoyed the dynamic with the family squabbling that kept occurring.
It was great when Dean finally stepped in and had Sam's back when arguing with their Dad.
I loved it when he told them it was great that they ignored his orders.
I can't wait to see the next two eps.

I liked those exact same parts!
But then, historically, I'm a sucker for movies and tv about daddy issues.
The end of A Christmas Story makes me cry like a little girl every dang time.

I wasn't impressed with making vampires less mystical. Those vampires were a pushover.
Anyway, has anyone noticed how they healed their pretty faces very quickly - I mean those were some scars from those claws from that previous episodes.

Okay, I finally saw the season finale and I liked it. It was good. Not Buffy-good, but good nontheless.
I thought the story flowed along nicely, though I knew that John W was possesed. The holy water only confirmed it, but it was pulled off nicely. Now they have only one bullet left, so they can go killing everything with it. I kinda hoped they would have used it all up, that way, they'd have to be more resourceful next season. I'm not too sure about the possesion thing. I mean, if it was as easy as it looked in this episode, what's to stop the demons from possessing Sam or Dean? Maybe we'll find out next season. Finally, I totally didn't see the ending coming. It was cool, though I kinda had an Alias flashback for a moment. Looking forward to S2.

Me too.
I really hate shows that leave on a cliffhanger like that. I have to wait for four months until season 2's opener to see what happened. Although I think John will be dead. I mean the hell they went through with that demon, and then get hit by a truck, there is no way he could survive that. Although its John Winchester, and Sam and Dean, are tough SOB's so they could survive that but I doubt it.
I wasn't sure if John was possessed until he told Dean good job for using the gun against the demon's son. Dean was right, John would be totally pissed if he wasted a bullet.
I did like Sam and Dean's plan in catching Meg, they are really smart, knowing Meg would find them and then capture her in the Box. Brilliant.
I hope the John becomes a regular castmember next season because he and Sam are the same person, which does cause friction between them. And the demon is right, John may like Sam more because Sam stood up to him and left, and Dean stayed. That in most family circles makes the parent respect the the disobedient child. He doesn't feel guilty for taking away Sam's childhood because Sam fought back. I like John because he is one tough SOB.

Enzo and I just finished watching the season finale. Very powerful.
I too didn't like how easily people were possessed. That was just way too insane. It was interesting that two of the demons were this ones children though.
I saw the Meg trap coming a mile away. It was so obvious when they kept backing up. I felt they were leading her into a trap. I wasn't expecting the circle to be on the ceiling though.
I figured out that their Dad was possessed. I said something to Enzo about it right when they walked into the room to rescue him. A little bit later Sam said they should check him out to make sure.
Enzo and I weren't really convinced though.
The car crash ending I really did not see coming. Do we know for sure that we are getting a Season Two? Have they announced the lineup for the new CW network yet?
I really hope it continues. I'd hate for it to end like that.

Considering how "Supernatural" is one of the few new shows that so well, I think it's a safe bet they'd get a second season. They actually have better chance than VM, since they got better ratings.

I really hope they both make it. I'd hate to lose either one of them.

I think they will keep VM, something in my gut tells me it will happen.

Finished the season yay! My review: I am unsure how I feel about the series. I admit that it hadn't really caught my interest. They do have some really good episodes, but they euqally have some bad ones. Good points: - I like the whole back story. That is interesting. - The separate episodes not on the back story is mostly good and scary. - A series with a male only cast. Bad points: - The lore and myths is still really rough around the edge. I get some of it and I don't get some. Most of the things that happen or they find out seems coincidental. They are just lucky most of the time. - They seem amaterish in what they do. Not the pro's they meant to be. They are really lucky. - The Dad storyline really sucks IMO. They spent over half a season trying to find their Dad and he avoided them like the plague. We even had 1 single episode near the end which explicitly shows why Dad being there is the worst idea ever. Now he's part of the team because it makes them 'stronger'? I don't buy that. Seem sloppy to me. It is only their first season, so it is bound to get better. Some thoughts on Season 2: - It feels too much like darker version of Charmed at the moment. They need to get rid of the Dad so more drama can be created. - It feels strange not having a proper female lead. But I believe who ever they get will just end up in flames anyway. - The myth and lore needs tigtening up a little and they need to have a proper plan.
