I just finished reading the 6th Harry Potter book, I think it's probably the best so far although the 5th one comes pretty close. I recommend it to any Harry Potter fan, the book is wholly unexpected. I laughed, I cried, I put the book down in shock but I loved it!

I am not much into Harry Potter.
-----------
I am almost done with the Book of Deuteronomy. Very interesting book indeed. I have learned a lot about the Old Covenant established.
"But those who hate him he will repay to their face by destruction; he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him" -Deut 7:10
"So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all teh way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess" Deut 5:32-33
Those 2 standed out to me from this book.

Keep reading, it gets so much more intense!
Harry Potter that is. I couldn't say about deuteronomy. It may well get more intense, it's been ages since I read it. But as I recall it was mostly an outlining of law, as opposed to an excercise in suspense.

Deuteronomy is kewl.
i still like Ecclesiastes and Isiah.
I'm on the list for HP but by the time they get to me, he'll be a tenured teacher at hogwarts.

I agree it was unexpected, but I thought it was in a bad way. Didn't cry, but my sister did.
Maybe it's just girls.
Anyway, I liked the book, but I don't think it's the best one so far. That still goes to book 3.

I'm about halfway through the current book.
They are all good in their own way, but the second one had me staying up until 2 in the morning to finish it.

It was the third that did it for me. Lupin was such a great character and that twist with Black was really unexpected.

I finished Harry Potter last night. I'll reserve judgement until I read the next one.
Beware, spoilers ahead. So be careful if you're reading the posts at the bottom where the spoiler code doesn't work.
Ye have been warned.
I want to believe that there was some sort of plan between Dumbledore and Snape. I want to believe that Dumbledore knew he was not long for this world and wanted to make his death useful. Giving Snape a foolproof way into Voldemort's confidences.
I mainly want to belive this because otherwise I might not be able to read the other books again. It's like when I watch Angel S5 again and I just want to reach in and throttle Knox.

I finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince a week ago. All my friends read it too. This is so much fun, we're all coming up with theories and stuff for book 7. We're speculating! I haven't gotten to speculate since May 2004. I missed it so much. Right now the most interesting theory is Voldemort had Dumbledore under the Imperius Curse. Here's the text from my friend's Xanga where he explains his thinking. My theory is that Dumbledore is/was under the Imperius Curse.
Let's start from the begginning. Before, I begin I want to point out that I do not believe Snape is a good man at all. I think he is a Death Eater, completely, unlike other conspiracy theories.
In Chapter Two, Snape mentions the DADA job...
"Not quite," said Snape calmly. "He wouldn't give me the Defense Against the Dark Arts job, you know. Seemed to think it, might, ah, bring about a relapse...tempt me into my old ways." HBP, Pg. 27
Well, that isn't odd at all, but look what he mentions a few lines later.
"Hardly," said Snape, "although the Dark Lord is pleased I never deserted my post..." HBP Pg. 27
The Dark Lord is pleased? If Voldemort was to do the Imperius Curse upon Dumbledore, he has all the information from Snape. I bet he granted Snape the job as a present.
Since this book showed how human Voldemort was, I find it best to throw this one at you too.
"...You have never treated Harry as a son. He has known nothing but neglect and often cruelty at your hands." HBP Pg. 55
OK? WTF? Dumbledore has always been nice to the Dursleys. A little annoyed by their neglect, but they always gave Harry a home. Why would Dumbledore have such an outburst all of the sudden? Why would he insult Dudley? It's just so un-Dumbledore. In The Chamber of Secrets, when Ron and Harry hit The Whomping Willow, Dumbledore announces that he will be writing letters home to their parents. Harry had known the Dursleys wouldn't give a flying f**k. Why would such a wise wizard assume back than that the Dursleys would give him due punishment? OK...plus, Dumbledore has like never been there. WTF? But, aw, yes, as we remember Voldemort and Harry are connected. Possibly Voldemort felt sorry for Harry, because he had as bad a childhood as his...Hmmm, interesting, eh?
Earlier on Dumbledore also makes sure that Kreacher is out of Grimmauld place. A meeting place for the death eaters?
I also want to point out that Dumbledore was wearing the Horcrux throughout all of this.
Since I don't want to mention all of dumbledoreisnotdead.com's clues, I'll skim through a few I've found.
What? The end of "The Secret Riddle" mentions that the the ring is gone. Where'd it go during that time? I think this is somewhat significant...don't you?
Snape is real eager to know Malfoy's plans in "The Unbreakable Vow." Why? So, he can stop them, that's why. Malfoy is only important in the final plan to let all the Death Eaters into the school. I presume it was their plan all the long, and one of them "slipped" the idea to Malfoy to make him feel better. I also think Voldemort is getting back at Lucius through Malfoy. Ruining his education, and so forth.
Trelawney, though a complete dumbass, was on to something with the Tarot card, The Tower. She said it meant Calamity, disaster. That isn't that true. The significance of The Tower is that it is betrayal and a cut of friendship. Though, this could refer to Snape, I like to think it refers to Dumbledore under Imperius setting up the attack perfectly. We also must remember that ring. That horcrux I should say. What if it completely made Dumbledore a Death Eater. What if that was Voldemort arguing with Snape in the woods? What if that was Voldemort setting it up so Harry had the information.
I mean, we know Voldemort is a dirty glory whore. In the end if Harry didn't have the information he recieved in this book, it's like taking candy from a baby. People will start to say that, doubt the prophecy, and Voldemort might be fearing another "Chosen One," the real "Chosen One." I believe that he wanted Harry to know all of this information to laugh at Harry how he set everything up for him when he kills Harry. There is also the case of the fake Horcrux. The plan. I think Voldemort set that up for them. Voldemort is good, but he wasn't that worried at all. When Harry drained the potion into him, Dumbledore starting mumbling about "not hurting them," and "just kill me now." I think that Voldemort cleverly set this up so Harry would have had a chance to catch the phisad. Dumbledore may say, "Just kill me now," because he is aware he is under imperius, and he may say, "Don't hurt them," because he is aware of the plans going at the school as he was drinking the potion. He also yelled for water. Harry tried the spell, but it wouldn't stay in the goblet. In one of the following chapters, Harry uses that same exact spell to put out Hagrid's aflamed house. Do you think Voldemort made him watch the trauma the castle?
Dumbledore seemed like he was battling himself in that faithful scene in the tower. Pushing down. He put on his act for Malfoy, but he knew the exact plan.
I am not sure if Dumbledore is dead or not. I think he might just be lurking in the shadows. If the Imperius has been lifted, than he is afraid to return I presume. He is ashamed that he couldn't protect them that year, or he could be afraid he might hurt Harry in the process. Or, alas, he could be dead.
I also must mentioned, though very unrelated that Harry hid the HBP's copy of the Potion Book in the same chest the Death Eaters snuck in. Strange, eh?
Well, that's my theory and I'm stickin' to it.

Interesting theory. I can't accept it though since it would ruin the previous 5 books for me. Rowling has a habit of making something seem obvious when the opposite is actually true. I think she's doing the same thing here. Or, at least, I hope she is.
The whole part with Dumbledore pleading to Snape didn't feel right. It didn't seem like he was pleading for his life. More like Snape had second thoughts about having to kill Dumbledore and he needed a little push.
I have a feeling Snape will die in the next book, but fighting for the side of good. The wizarding world will still see him as Dumbledore's murderer, but Harry will find out the truth about Snape.
I have a little theory about the R.A.B that got to the horcrux before Harry and Dumbledore. I think it was Sirius' brother Regalus. He has been mentioned as a Death Eater that wanted to back out and was killed by Voldemort.
