I have created this thread so we can discuss the books or any other type of classic literature poems, short stories, plays, etc.
This is where you tell us what piece of literature you're reading as well as what do you think about it.
The non-school book that I am reading right now is Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger. I brought it today to see what they said about the book is true, which is that its one of the best sports books written. I have read up to the end of the prolouge and I like it. I brought it, so when I see the movie, I can have some background on the film.

I'm still reading The Vampire Lestat, which I have been reading since Christmas (I have no dedication). I'm also reading The History of Rock and Roll for a book report.

I loved The Vampire Lestat. It's such an excellent book. It's my favorite of The Vampire Chronicles.

I'm kind of all over the place with my reading lately. I finished The DaVinci Code about a month ago. I enjoyed it for all the little tidbits about symbolism.
I recently read Nevada Barr's latest, Flashback. I thought it was one of her better ones.
I tried reading A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, but I couldn't get into it. I like detail in a book, but the author takes about 2 pages to describe his breakfast.
I'm currently reading a non fiction book called The Map That Changed the World. It is about William Smith, a man who created the world's first geological map, only to have it stolen and published by someone else. So far, not the happiest book in the world.
I mostly read mysteries. I enjoy Dennis LeHane, Harlen Coben, Sara Paretski, Tony Hillerman, Dana Stabenow and Carl Hiassen, among others.

One of the characters is a cop. He hates working in Florida and is pining for a return to Minnesota. He even remarks that he has a tendency to brood.

Took me a while to find this place. I'm reading a Buffy Book called the Lost Slayer. I said something about it a few days ago over in TvTome. Its pretty good, I think it would have made a great season of Buffy if they made it.

Not sure if we are keeping this thread alive or not but I just finished How To Make Love Like a Porn Star by Jenna Jameson. She has had an interesting life to say the least. My hubby wanted it for Xmas and so I read it too so we can have our little book club discussions.

I keep toying with the thought of picking up Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrey. I keep hearing good things about it.
Anyone read it?

I'm almost halfway through The Dark Tower right now, and damned if Stephen King doesn't have my allergies all acting up.
The man is worse than Joss when it comes to killing people off.
So freakin' sad.
You guys really should read these books, they are so very good.
Despite the fact that I'm currently a bit pissed at Mr. King at the moment.
