HI! Figured I'd start the new one here so we can all enjoy the Vegas atmosphere virtually if not physically.
Have a drink (here's for the drink: ) sing a song, and raise a toast.
Such as ...
Let us raise a glass and toast A vampire with a soul Whose journeys, long and arduous Have long at last led home.
Liam, drunken libertine By Darla sired, unleashed Across the face of Europe A wicked carnal feast
And thus his ravings took him One gypsy princess more Than fate allowed him thus to rage And, branded with a soul
He turned his face then toward the good And fought to earn his place Redemption, honor, glory ... life A glimmering of grace
He faced it all with heroes strong While flawed, their cause was true And ne'er again so rich a tale Shall poor we wretches view
To ANGEL! To the ANGEL'TOME! NEVER FADE AWAY!
* sip *
How's everyone doin' tonight?

[quote author=ticktock44 board=Caritas thread=1126109517 post=1127963280]I went with a classic--cereal. But Nick's looks a lot yummier. I'm curious, do you always take pictures of your food before you eat it?[/quote] No, not usually .... That was just I picture I took from the internet to show you westerners what that looked like. I'm thoughtful that way. And Bango, what a cop-out. [/color]

Yes it is the same girl. Her name is River Tam. She was allowed to be on the ship under Mal's protection. And now it looks like the Movie will continue the story of Firefly, which was continued in a set of comics released this summer. The comics bridged the gap between the last eppy, "Objects in Space" and "Serenity" the Big Damn Movie!!

I've been reading reviews for Serenity for the last half-hour and so, and the reaction is generally positive.
You have to be careful though ... some of the reviews don't bother to be spoiler-free.

I've got my Serenity tickets ordered so I don't have to worry about the shows selling out. I'm so very excited. Now I just need to get there early to get good seats.
Now I'm off to bed. Another early day tomorrow but then I have a nice 4 day weekend!!
Goodnight everyone.

No one's toasting the BDM?
Oh, and Kev, I will need to see your Serenity comics if I can because mine haven't actually, um, arrived.
And here's a thing: Is it possible to read comics in Vegas, with all of the singing and the drinking and the scanty klad gehimnissle vimmenning bouncy-bouncy?
Oh, and here's my version of the story: It's "Ivanhoe," and I have, indeed, spotted the loony!
This is why I should never plan things: I set my VCR to record "Lost" and watched "Criminal Minds," which once again was extraordinarily good (though how no one noticed the arsonist is beyond me because she was acting on OCD, so presumably stealth wouldn't be a guiding factor. Also, the arsonist set the fires using lots of different means so the bottom falls out of the concept of ritual, and ... dammit, I should never overanalyze things that I enjoy. ) Anywho, I watch "Criminal Minds," which I still enjoy even though I've now convinced myself academically I shouldn't, and I don't notice that my tape has stopped. So I watched half of "Lost."
However, it sounds as if I didn't miss a whole heckuva lot.
Auntie, "Commander in Chief" is going to improve, although to be perfectly frank, next week's storyline that seems to revolve on some level around her daughter losing her diary seems like a ridiculous teen drama. And tradition argues the vice president, stepping into the presidency, is obligated to fulfill the predecessor's mandate, but that makes no sense at all since at the beginning of all of this, the veep was whoever lost, and, being the president's opponent that doesn't argue that they would carry out their predecessor's mandate. Obviously we've amended the Constitution since then for a reason, but still, there is precedent for a vice president forging his -- or in this case, her -- own destiny.
I mostly look forward to the cultural commentary, myself, as well as Geena Davis, in that she is as interesting and charismatic a nontraditional president as that portrayed by Dennis Haysbert.
I am always wary of Donald Sutherland, mostly for the allegations that he ruined Joss' vision of "Buffy," but while he's a misogynistic old toad in this show, he's a reasonably compelling villian figure.
Apart from that, I'm gonna click around and watch "Unleashed" and "The Daily Show" and call it as early a night as I can, given that tomorrow is going to be something of a bear.
HEY! I just saw one of my new neighbors with a fuzzum. A big ol' German shephard of a pooch in that [dru] toiny [/dru] little apartment I moved out of two years ago.
With that big ol' dawg (which we're technically not allowed to have) and a roomate, they must have either no furniture or serious space management issues.
Well, I guess I wouldn't mind with her as the roomate -- she is [garth falsetto] hoooooooot [/garth falsetto]
Everything going pretty well tonight for everyone?
