Wait! He's ... writing something with his filth ...
He's ... programming the fall schedule for the CW!

Monday 8e/7c... Crap 9e/7c... Crap 10e/9c... Crap
I'm sensing a trend here...

If he flings hard enough he can squeeze another two eps of "7th Heaven" into the weekly schedule easy.

A little research later, there are a couple of ways to do this.
One is to bring the party to Cordy. It requires us to spend two days on the train, obligates Py to set the wedding on Friday. If he and Roy came along, it would obligate them to spend the first two days of married life on a train and if there were eight of us, it would cost us an additional $1,500 altogether. We'd get to spend five hours with Cordy touring a very small part of St. Louis in the dead of night and would be limited to whatever the sommalier on Amtrak had on hand.
The second is to bring Cordy to the party. That would get her and Enzo into town at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 7, they could crash with someone, surely, and they could stay until 8 a.m. Sept. 11. They could attend the wedding at whatever time it was set for and if there were eight of us pitching in, it would cost us about $36 each (full ticket price for an adult and a child is $291 round trip).
I myself think the second option has more merit.
In the meantime, maybe Py and Roy could call around for suitable lodging. It's possible there's a group discount to be had, especially if it is secured early enough.
And that being said, they'll need to know who can make it and who can't (Someone get grail over here one of these weeks).
Me, I wouldn't miss this for poverty. Roy and Py's wedding is going to be a blast.
And I'll make an early commitment to helping Cordy and Enzo get to town. If there are more than four of us pitching in, I will commit to up to $72 above and beyond my own travel costs.
Especially since the other way -- for each of us to get there as a group -- would've been approximately $180 each.
I ... suspect they'd need to have cash in hand by Aug. 25 in order to secure the seats.
Also -- I'm less savvy navigating air travel sites. If anyone discovers a reliable flight that will get Cordy and Enzo from St. Louis to Minneapolis for less than $291 round trip, shout it out and let us know when how many of us need to send our checks.
It's early days yet (heck -- it just turned June) but I'm definitely saving up.

One of the reasons I liked the idea of Labor Day weekend is because I am more than likely working then. Unless I find another job I'd just have that Monday and the weekend to work with. That next weekend doesn't have that benefit.
I don't think anyone would mind me speaking for them here, but I think I can safely say we all love Py. Very happy for him and the Feller, but getting up there might be a bit of a stretch for some of us.
I was thinking maybe we could postpone the official bash until the Spring. We'd all have a little more time to save up and we'd have more time to plan everything. Cordy will probably be free to move about by then as well. We would be able to cast a wider net for our meeting place. Maybe get more of us together at the same time.

I agree Auntie. While I love Py I don't really want to do a 13 and a half hour train ride plus Enzo is still in school so we'd really be rushed.
I wouldn't want to get worn out and get sick all over again.
Plus, in the spring I'll have my tax refund so I'll be able to afford my own trip.
September is just a bad time for me to go anywhere since my car insurance is due then.
I love Auntie's plan. ;D

It won't be the same without you Cordy -- and Auntie, naturally. Just wanted to let you know how much you were missed at the last Bash and it'd be a shame to miss you at this one -- You're really wanted there -- especially since it was kind of your idea. ;D
Next year I could make a separate Bash in the spring or I could make grail and sgg's wedding. It'd be cool if they coincided. I haven't been to D.C. since I was too young to do anything especially fun.

Newswise, Py and Roy at last report were thinking of moving the wedding into November.
This will be nice, given the hubris I posted the last couple of posts I'm still actually broke and it'd be nice to get some sort of reserve built up.
November being a semi-iffy month for travel -- and with 30 days in it, a fairly broad target -- we can wait maybe for Py to come in here and get explicit.
And won't that be fun.

And won't that be fun. Well, unless Py wants to move his wedding until next spring I'm pretty much out anyway so the date change doesn't matter.
I'll be very broke until after Christmas. Too many things coming up and way too little money.
