I figured we needed a set place to talk about this.
As it stands we're considering Chicago for Labor Day, but we're open to change if Cordy can't make it.
So we're also considering St. Louis for the same weekend.
Questions? Comments?

St. Louis would work best for Cordy.
(Enzo being in school and all.)
All the households with school age kids would be misput,I guess but those of us with empty nests can be more flexible.
Chicago or St. Louis are good geographically for the u.s. folk.
I wish we could do Europe and Malaysia some year just to get all our best buddies in on this.
I still think we ought to form our own country somewheres.....

St. Louis would work best for Cordy. (Enzo being in school and all.)
It really would work best for me. For one Enzo will be in school so St. Louis would be much handier to get to. Also, if he's still on probation at that time then I couldn't go to Chicago even if I found the money to stay there.
Then there's the money issue. My student loans are killing me. Finding gas money to drive to St. Louis is one thing. Finding money to travel to Chicago, get a Hotel room, eat, have fun, etc. is quite another.
Of course if Enzo really does pay me back all his court costs and such with his mowing money then it may not be so bad.
It's just my car insurance is due in September, then Enzo's birthday is at the beginning of October, then there's Christmas to be getting ready for.
September is just a bad time financially speaking for me to take any sort of trip.
I would love to see Chicago though, I just don't think it's possible for me to do that this year.
I would also love to go to Europe some year. I've always wanted to do that anyway and a Tomer Bash would be the perfect excuse.
Of course Grail and SGG suggestion of playing Ghost in the Graveyard and such in the woods has some great appeal to me as well. My parents have acres of property out by Johnson Shut-Ins state park that would be absolutely beautiful in September. We could have a ton of fun in the woods.
It's not as cool as the city but we make out own fun. It could be lots cheaper than everyone needing a Hotel room.

Camping? I don't have any gear.
I'm open to St. Louis. It adds $80 and 8 hours to the trip but that's hardly an insurmountable thing.
We must have Cordy.
We must have all of us, actually, so scour those sofas for loose change ... ;D

I have to admit,I'd like Farmington or wherever I could just let down,be with people I like, see some pretty scenery, etc. The fancy stuff could be done in day trips or an overnight. Maybe think 'con suite'...... ;D Games,talk,food,t.v....... We'd have to make a rule that Cordy could NOT take on the burden of hostessing/catering if we do this on her turf. Bashes are vacations for everyone-not a burden on the local Tomers. Don't let enzo undercharge. My hubby,Jim got $1.75 for a good sized yard back in HIS day. If you multiply the money by 10 (which is about how much higher the cokes, candy and comics he bought are now) then he ought to get no less than $17.50. Assuming he cuts each yard about every 2 weeks, that's $35 per client. Let him keep part for him, part for the business, part for savings and the rest for you. That won't hurt his reputation if he gets permission to work, do volunteer stuff, etc. They'll get used to the idea of enzo/freedom/responsible behaviour. not a bad correlation for them to keep in mind.
