Also, the KJV of the bible uses the text from all four sources of the Bible (J,E,D, and P), the King James version was translated from Either the LLX(Greek) or the Vulgate(Latin) translated by St. Jerome. And both of these translations were translated from both Aramiac and Hebrew, and also used the four sources of the Hebrew Bible.

The part where Caine married his younger sister and had many children was left out because incest is wrong. Ok, I've read that part. It says that Cain married his wife, and he knew her...and that would mean Cain did marry his sister. Back in those days incest wasn't wrong. Practically every civilization coming from Cain and Seth's sides, and their numerous relatives, married within the family. I'm currently taking a course on both the books of Genesis and Revelations, and the study book concerning the subject of Cain marrying his sister says it was all right doing that in those days, because the genetics of the human race were pure, but as time went by, and diseases became known, it was unwise to do that.

Were the 4 sources called, "Traditional Texts", coming from the actual autographs. Because that's the backgroung line that the KJV can be traced to. And it's probably from the LLX translation, because the KJV isn't traced back to Jerome's Latin Vulgate. Because the KJV is in the Traditional Text background line, while the Latin Vulgate is traced within the Western Text background.

Bango, Mr. N doesn't hate you. He just doesn't agree with you- VERY important difference. And I'm sure the higher powers will forgive Illyria Worshipper for calling God a hypocrite. And for misspelling it. After all, isn't it the love that counts? People? Anyone?
Rebelman, wicca-dude, you're right there with me, right?

Bango, I have to check back with you in a month about that because, I dont have the textbook with me that has the complete history of how the Hebrew Bible was written. It's in the second or third chapter of the book. Also I threw away my notes from that class because I figured I wouldn't need them.

I wouldn't trust that textbook, C'golfa. It was written hundreds of years after the Bible and I'm pretty sure it contains a few inconsistencies.

Hey Bango, I've been reading your replies to various people. Out of curiosity, do you believe that God could be vengeful and merciless against people who doesn't believe in him, or who take his name in vain.
I asked this because you seem to think people like Illyria Worship should watch out what she says - and that some will pay.

iw's a dude, MaxC. I know -- shocked the heck outta me, too. Well, be fair, iw, when you first showed up you called yourself illyria666. It's the same situation as that Buffy88 dude. We poor fellow potzers don't always check the profiles right away. When your posting name is portrayed by a woman of the opposite sex, we just assume when we're replying to, say, illyria666, we should tip our hat, so to speak. It's the same sort of problem some of us had with angelusfan at first. Nothin' but love, y'all.

I asked this because you seem to think people like Illyria Worship should watch out what she says - and that some will pay. You've obviously never read the Bible, have you? God destroyed the world in the beginning because people were wicked, and defied him. He destroyed Soddom and Gomorah because people were wicked and defied him. He sent plagues to Egypt because Pharoh wouldn't obey Moses' command, which was also disobeying God himself. And in various books of the Bible, it speaks that God once again will have vengeance on his people in the end times....Those that are wicked and that defy him and his word....so yes, I do believe he can be those things at certain times.

For the sake of peace keeping Bango... I think a simple yes (without the assumption of what MaxC reads or does not read) would have sufficed. There is no need to treat people disrespectfully, regardless of whether your God is a vengeful God. Just a reminder.... Everyone has their own opinions, right or wrong they are intitled. Besides, we are all friendly around here so please make sure you are not stepping on people while you step on their opinions. There IS a difference. Okay, Now back to the regularly scheduled debate.
