X-men 3: The Last Stand - 6 out of 10
So before I launch into my tirade, I figure I better list the good things about the movie. - The casting for Kelsey Grammer as the Beast is inspired. Very good, very in-character, and not once did I think it was Frasier in makeup. He had some sweet fight scenes as well. - The opening scene actually reminded me of Days of Future Past. Very cool. Too bad it wasn't actually. - There's a couple of fan-service in the movies. You'll know it when you see it. - Kitty Pride vs. Juggernaut. Way cool. - Stan Lee cameo, which is always a good thing. - The story is cobbled from the Dark Pheonix Saga and Joss' Gift storyline. And now on to the bad. - Where were all the cool fight scenes? Definately below par when compared to the first 2 installment. - The Story. While combining the 2 great stories sound great on paper, they don't really work that well in action, especially since those stories really a lot on knowledge of past events, many which has yet to happen in the movies. Hence, the many modification to the original story. I didn't mind a couple of them, but I rather think they went really over board with the ret-conning. Most of the fans won't be happy. - Hugh Jackman. He's still as good as ever, but he's become so popular that they killed some characters to make more room for him. And is he way overpowered. - The guy who plays Angel is really jarring, especially when he looks nothing like the Angel we know in the comics. - Psylocke? Where are the Psyblades? - While the movie was only approximately 90 minutes long, it felt longer. They were a couple of parts that dragged.
All in all, it's not a bad summer movie. Just not as good as the first 2, IMHO.

i watched X-2 on fx last night. it held my attention. my brother and hubby were getting annoyed with me because i kept calling the characters but other characters names that they have played. like Gandolf and Captain Picard.

I give this movie a 8 out of 10. It was a fun movie, it kept me enthalled throughout. The reason why I like it was probably because I haven't read the comics.
To me, when the killed Xavier, it really felt like that I was watching a Joss Whedon flick. The pangs were there especially the horror that I saw on Magneto's face.
Storm and Wolverine were awesome, especially Wolverine.
I'm still awed by the movie, so I can't come with more thoughts.

That's why I put it in the spoiler tags, so people wouldn't want to be spoiled, wouldn't read it.

Aly,I'm glad you're feeling better.
Spoiling may not be good for movies but it's ideal for recuperating patients.
Take care of yourself and don't try too hard to make up for the downtime while you were sick.
A little extra TLC will help you get and stay healthier.
