Well, I have a question... I was wondering what would happen if Wolverine would be shot by the Cure, would he lose his abilitiles to heal or because he is a superhealer, would he be impervious to the cure.

I watched the movie the night it opened. The thing that stuck out to me was that the dialogue was absolutely terrible. If none of the jokes had made me laugh the talking in this movie would have been Star Wars bad. The movie was good, it just didn't have anything amazing to offer. More mutants, more fighting, the most obvious storyline to use mixed in with some of Joss's stuff, most of the "unhappy" stuff just happened and didn't get any time focusing on that it should have been unhappy, and then in the last scene before the credits and the scene after the credits the two most exciting things this movie did to the story are taken back. It could have been much better.
The movie did, however, inspire me to read all 14 current issues of Astonishing X-Men, which a friend was nice enough to lend me. I usually can't stand reading comic books, but this one feels like it is just an episode of Buffy where all the original cast has left and been replaced with X-Men.

But you know Max -- I just think of this like any other Joss adventure -- That is all true. Cyclop might not be really dead, that wasn't really Jean Grey. Charles can clone another body. Magneto and Mystique regain all their powers, Rogue didn't get the cure, or that she regain her powers back etc etc
This would be all possible and good for a TV series, or a comic book.
Unfortunately, with movies it doesn't work that way easily so the general public can understand it (things like aliens and ressurection etc). There's also a very big chance that this is the final Xmen in the current series (bar any spinoff) which means any possibility of a recovery might not come about. Because we all know that the Xmen movies do not follow the comics at all. I think my biggest problem with it, that I can't seem to put into words, is what TealBox posted above. I feel It rushed through all those bad things without any of them having a focus - no mourn period, or reflection. They just 'happen'. I will watch it again, and I will get it to complete my collection (because it is still good). Maybe the second viewing might cause a less adverse reaction. It could be I'm at the part of my life where I'm not ready to accept or able to watch these types of moves.

I'm not sure about in the movie but in the comics what Hope does is basically delete the mutant gene. So if wolverine did get hit with it, he would be cured but would end up dying from adamantium poisoning.

Thanks, Phoe.
I didn't stay for the end ... can someone tell me what happened? OMG Nick! Really? It made the whole movie. It changes the tone of how you feel walking out. Do you think you will go see it again? (Pho posted it just above at the end, the last spoiler)
I dunno. While I didn't certainly didn't hate it, I didn't like it enough that I'd go again. Maybe if someone accompanies me? It's possible that I'd just wait for the DVD.

Oh, and did you guys see the preview for Ghost Rider?
GR's is one of the first comic I've read, and it's a personal favourite of mine. I can't wait to see what they do with it.

I didn't see a preview for it but I do know that they filmed it here in Melbourne.
Also Marvel Comics is going to release a new Ghost Rider series next month or sometime this year. I'll just go check it out.

I was renting movies at Netflix and I came across these; X-Men: Evolution: Season 1 Discover how one of the greatest crime-fighting troupes ever to grace comic-book pages came to be. Watch as Professor Charles Xavier ushers all your favorite X-Men characters -- Storm, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey and more -- through adolescence as they train for the mission of good they'll face as they get older. . They look like cartoons based on X-Men comics, has anyone here seen them? Wondering if they are worth checking out. I realize they are going to be more kiddie/Disney than the big screen versions -- but I rather like cartoons if plotted and animated well.

I've seen one or two episodes, but I think Pheo watches them.
It's an alternate version of the X-men, as far as I can tell, so the characters are slightly different. Beyond that, I can't tell.

Nick's right. Its basically the X-Men only younger, in school and the world doesn't know about mutants until like the end of season 2. I haven't seen past season 2 but its alright, its just it doesn't have a lot in common with the comics. Eg. Shadowcat is dating Avalanche, Rogue is a goth and the Scarlet Witch has family issues. Wait forget that last one, stupid cow has always had family issues.
The old cartoon from the 90's is better because its based more on the comics though and next year they're going to make a show based around Wolverine. As if we don't already get enough of him. Anywho, off to go post a Ms. Marvel review.
