Nope, I'm no coder - I just know a little HTML and CSS, so I can create a basic website (I coded and designed the website in my sig), and small things like the links box for here. I'm just an enthusiastic amateur! lol
The last job I had was as an assistant supervisor at an IT training center, but that was a few years ago, and things have moved on such a lot since! lol

Oh dear lord -- yes. You need eyes in the back of your head in this industry, or you run the risk of becoming a relic.

Exactly!
When I was teaching IT skills about 5 or 6 years back, the place I worked at was still on Win 95 machines with no internet connection.....we basically taught Word, Excel and Database skills - so my Level 3 IT qualification would need some serious upgrading if I wanted to go back in teaching IT- which I don't! lol

There are a few photo editing software tools you can get for ... * contriving for free stuff * Okay after looking hard, right now I found another photo editing software that was sent to us complimentary: www.roxio.com/en/products/photosuite/index.jhtmlNow they shipped me version 5, which that's how they get you. They want you to upgrade, and the site is showing 7 current. Which you dont have to upgrade, just they hope you will for the extras. So -- I have this in my hand and I can mail it off, let me know. But I swear I have a comp, unregistered Photoshop Elements laying around somewhere too -- * still looking, but there are allot of hiding places in my creative *

We use Photoshop here, which is why I want my sister to install her copy. They have 6.0 and 7.0, and I don't really mind which one I get. They just forgot to install it when they were installing everything else.
It will get installed. It's just that she has to remember to do so, and we have to disable the heck out of the registration function, which I believe they have.
She's much worse than me about piracy. She's never paid for software. I even bought the Scrabble and chess games I got, which are almost certainly out there and free for the taking.

I'm very pissed off!
I had to call the gas board to have a look at my gas meter, because it wasn't working right - they came out, and fixed the meter (it had been nudged, somehow - so all they had to do was reset it).
But after that, they noticed that my gas fire hadn't been serviced for a while. So they turned off my gas supply, and I had to phone up my landlord to get him to send a service engineer round to service my fire.
So - all pretty normal stuff. No worries. But, it does mean that I have no heating in my flat until my fire is serviced, which could be tomorrow, could be later.
I'm not a happy buuny. And it's all my landlord's fault, because servicing the fire is his responsibility, not mine. It should have been done ages ago.

Aww my poor ITL has no heat?! However will you keep warm? Well I'm sure you'll think of something until you get your heat back ;D
Landlords suck. You pay rent because you don't want the responsibility of upkeep on a property (among many reasons I'm sure) And they drop the ball. When I moved out of my last apartment I didn't get my deposit back because "they had to replace the carpet" Well for one thing....if a person lives in a place for 7 years you're gunna have to replace the damn thing anyway coz well, who wants to move into a place with a 7yr old carpet in it? Not to mention stuff is bound to stain over that time....But the real point is, the apartment flooded because of their neglegence and ruined the carpet so how's that my fault I ask you?
So, long story short, I feel your pain ITL. Hope you get heat back soon!

Thanks, Feigy!
If he doesn't send someone round to service it, he can be prosecuted, yes. (BTW - Python ref? Cool).

The "e" is silent. I'm very observant. I've never seen so many bleedin' aerials.
Maybe you can fill out a heating license form where "dog license" is stroked out and "heating license" is written in in crayon.

G-d, I so just heard John Cleese just there.
Thank you. ITL.
Seriously, beyond the monkey skin that may still be hanging about somewhere, is there anyone you can crash with overnight? Or a hotel flat for hire (naturally billed to your landlord)? It's not a good time of year to be at home with no heat.
